News flash- run defense.

And remember surrat was knocked out of the game when we played them ast year so he didn’t display that much running ability so maybe the underestimated that quite a bit coming into the game.

When Vilma tells us he had nightmares about facing offenses like that, maybe we should just chill the **** out?

Just have to give UNC credit for that "Wishbone" 3 back formation type of wrinkle. We obviously were not prepared for it on those few plays it worked for them.

All of the qbs Miami faced were bad. Francois, Jones from Duke, Virginia’s qb, and Josh Jackson (If he is healthy enough) are better then the 5 qbs Miami has faced.

Im going to have to stop you right there. Josh Jackson is not a good passer

Jones broke his collarbone just 3 weeks ago and i know ppl heal differently but that's way too early and he's hound to go down again on the first sack

Josh Jackson broke his leg

Francois is bad

Not too worried about any of those

Francois isn’t bad, just doesn’t have time. We’ve made worse QBs look great.

Fair enough.

I think Diaz will be willing to let him look decent/ good if it means shutting down their run game fully

But I agree with your point

I know Some were concerned about the run defense vs unc, but look around a lot of team have struggled defending the run at times this season, it happens...

-Bama gave up 200 plus rushing yards to Louisiana lafayette this past week.

-ohio state gave up 230 yard to Oregon state and trace mcsorley the QB from penn state just had 160 plus rushing yards against them...

I used Bama and Ohio state for example who have some of the best personnel in the country on defense and they still struggled defending the run against inferior opponents(obviously not talking about penn state)to show how it can happen to anyone.

Regardless overall our run defense has been good throughout the season but obviously had a hiccup for sure. But imo a lot of that will be fixed once Jaquan Johnson because a lot of those 10-15 plus runs wont breakout with him back there .

I think many here are upset because they hold the team to a different standard. The standard that we used to see from our great teams in the past.

So basically they don’t care about baga or any other team

Once again Brock proves he’s doesn’t know jack
Because I said Other teams rushing defenses including a top 3 team in the country defense has been ran on at times and it happens around the country? Shut up my guy and quit with the overreaction

Miami is not in the same category as Bama and Osu. So you are saying oh their defenses have been run on so it’s ok for Miami’s to get run on.

No, but it seems like people like to continue notions that this doesn’t happens to other teams but only occurs to miami

That was exactly my point in a similar thread a day after game. Vilma obviously knows the game better then anyone on this board. Yet even when he says how difficult it is to defend that formation, ignorant posters ignore this. Also, Chizik a top defensive coordinator at one time, said that was the most dominating performance he has seen to date on the defensive side of the ball. Yet we have posters that cannot enjoy that and find issues to gripe about.

Bill connelly does advanced stats for every team. On run, we are really good at stuffing plays and not allowing teams to get yards on a down to down basis. Conversely, we tend to give up a lot of big plays.

Right. You see what people are saying here.

Still puffing out their chests acting like it’s the 80’s or 2001.

We are not a great team. Also the game has changed completely from those days.

Oh well *** it.
