New Year, New Chain

You are wrong. He said it will be back for the 2018 season. Richt said 2018 will be the last year for the chain.

It's a quote from the Herald. Do any of y'all read? Diaz here is specifically stating it's coming back for 2018. How am I wrong exactly?

What’s important is to work on the Defense so that the chain doesn’t become a joke. Teams have to fear the chain coming out. Towards the end, the chain was used against us, especially in that ACCCG game,

Do you have a link for this. I know he was on some Georgia radio show a couple months ago and said they were retiring the current chain and auctioning it off and will have a new one this year. Haven't heard that they are going to stop the chain altogether especially after how he was talking about how much buzz it generated.

I personally don't need 20000 different logos/fonts/unis floating around the football program like Nike U in the Pacific Northwest BUT I have always thought it'd be cool if we did utilize this logo/font once with football. It'd be pretty unique as only a handful of current football programs have anything similar (Loserville, Rice, etc).

You have a hard time with comprehension. The chain will be back for 2018 season. They will not have a chain in 2019.

Did Richt specifically say in that interview that there will not be any chain, new or old, after this season? I took the "retiring the chain in 2018" as talking about the original chain. I just don't know why they would say this is the last season for any TO chain already. I would think it would be evaluated season by season, and when it starts to lose it's effect that's when you retire it. As long as it's still popular and if, most importantly, they are still creating a ton of turnovers, why would you get rid of it?

Jezus Christmas did you even listen to the **** interview or even read the synopsis of the interview that's on the page you linked. He clearly says they are retiring the current turnover chain and auctioning it off for charity and we'll have a turnover chain 2.0. He never said they were getting rid of the turnover chain after this season and actually talked about how much buzz it creates and they he knows other schools will try to come up with something better than the turnover chain but they won't top it.

No i didn't listen or read it. Was trying to to get another link but i couldn't Paste it. Anyway richt still said in a interview that 2018 would be the last year.

How about a 305 medalian that is orange on the left and green on the right?

A big medallion with the []__[] in the middle; maybe with a white background. The original one didn't always sit right around the neck. Maybe do a rope chain next season.

This is really a big deal. Caught on like wild fire. It needs to be in a class of its own. Class case brought onto the field at the start of the game. Awarded to the player with some style. Not just placed like some piece of junk.
Perhaps even a special band song. Could become a Cane tradition. New position called "Turn over chain presenter" You get the idea.
