Triple option RBC and a former OLC as the TEC??
Broball is BACK!!
And I believe Viti played FB at Army.

Having the TEs be good blockers when most are coming here as receivers is not a bad thing IMOAnother OL coach on staff. Hopefully that doesn't keep the TE as a de facto lineman
I agree. I also would think that OL/TEs work together a ton anyway. When it’s time for pass catching work, the TEs would go to Beards group. I absolutely love this hire.
Go to 15:10 in the video. Bauman ignored the outside rusher here too. The Pitt player stopped. Indiana's player didn't.
Heatherman and this guy first off the buslooks like a potential psychopath.. I’m good with it lol
he is either cashing in for his family after years of not getting paid top dollar or decided he wants to move up in coaching.Very interesting hire... he's basically been an Army lifer! Found this on his resume which makes the move slightly odd from a timing standpoint "In the winter of 2025, Viti was promoted to Associate Head Coach / Offensive Line." So he basically just got promoted there and now leaves 2.5 months later. Who knows what his motive is, I'm sure he got a significant pay bump and maybe he aspires to be a future OC or HC. Culturally he fits Mario but does he fit recruiting athletes down here and nationally? Time will tell. Either way - love that he's a grinder and loyal. Welcome Coach!
heard one of the podcasts where Dmoney practically had to have him sedated over this issue.Buddy was stilll crying on today's pod about position coaches. I've never seen a ****** tied so tightly like his rn
If samson and max are our guards i can definitely see more gap scheme stuff because they’re more athletic than mccoy and coop. They probably won’t be as good as pushing mfs around tho so not having to be so reliant on duo and IZ is good.We have now brought in a former triple option QB to coach RBs (was Upshaw at GA Southern when Monken was there too? - just thought about that connection) and a former triple option RB/triple option OL coach to coach TEs. Makes you wonder what they're thinking behind the scenes or if there's something new they're incorporating there.
Also, speculating on assistant coaching hires is completely pointless now. Nobody mentioned either of these dudes the entire time. Corner will probably be exactly the same.

Monken was only at GA Southern for his transfer sit-out year before taking the Army job; in other words, you’re correct. GA Southern would beat UF 26-20 to end that year (2013). I thought we were back when we beat UF by a similar margin earlier in the season
Anyways, Favian played for 4 head coaches and 4 offensive coordinators in 5 years: Mario, Monken, Fritz, and Tyson Summers who is the current DC at Colorado State. Dell McGee was his interim HC when he won GoDaddy Bowl MVP.
OCs: Tim Cramsey (just got hired at Arkansas for OC from Memphis), Brent Davis is the TE coach for Pitt after being VT’s OL/TE coach, Doug Ruse was recently an analyst at South Alabama, and David Dean currently HC at Delta State University (didn’t know this existed). DD was Valdosta State’s HC prior to that.
Last coaching tree tidbit, Mario’s former OC Bill Legg was at Minnesota with Hetherman in 2024.

They used to turn out alot of QBs, including the infamous Ron Powlus.
As our fellow poster from PA noted, small HS that used to win alot of state championships.
I think Berwick used to be an old railroad town.
I'm guessing the population has shrunk, and thus their football prowess has diminished.

yeah, lots of old northeastern cities that were juggernauts through the 90s are no longer. Berwick, Brockton MA, etc.
