New tight end coach Mike Viti

They used to turn out alot of QBs, including the infamous Ron Powlus.
As our fellow poster from PA noted, small HS that used to win alot of state championships.
I think Berwick used to be an old railroad town.
I'm guessing the population has shrunk, and thus their football prowess has diminished.
Bo Orlando was from there too. Played in the league for a while.

This guy legit probably has way more confirmed kills than any street gangster. King Von had 7 hats. This dude Viti has likely personally smoked at minimum double digit hostiles. Im not sure if that gets clout, but imagine trying to croot Chicago, I imagine casually dropping his kill-death ratio would be impressive.

perfect cultural fit and he’ll actually make his room work and not be soft on blocking duties. But I’m scared we are making the room too one dimensional. I can’t imagine he has any experience with passing concepts.
You know TEs work with the receivers coach too when it comes to passing stuff. Not just 1 coach helping coach these players up. Plus he has coached multiple positions. I’m sure he’s a student of the game and knows more that just blocking concepts…

Or maybe he can just be like a normal coach and talk to the black recruit from Chicago about how he’s going to make him the best version of himself instead of insulting him with the stereotype that black kids from Chicago relate to murders.

Of course there is gonna be cross pollination among the coaches. But this is the guy that’s gonna be the players’ cornerstone, the main guy shaping the room. His only experience has been Army and the blocking/ run game. It just seems to me that his perceived rigidness can cause some concerns for the receiving aspect of the TE room. It’s frankly a minor concern given dawson’s TE usage, plus what we already had previously. But a concern all the same.

Checking Eye in the Sky for the first time in a long time.

Geez!!! Mario hires coaches super fast!!! Didn’t have to read through any of the speculation threads.

How on earth is some assistant at Army who it seems one person on this board has heard of so highly regarded?

Likely mentioned in an earlier post but Alex Bauman missed a routine chip on a punt protect that likely cost us the national championship. Presumably this guy would rip that kids head off a **** down his neck if he even thought about not giving full effort.

So like many on this thread I am in.

Cheers to The Miami Hurricanes being the most physical and violent version of a modern college football team imaginable

Same reason Lil Jeff blew up even tho his music was objectively garbage. A dude who actually has stacked bodies will get additional respect. Especially from high school age kids. It is what it is. Everyone knows 051 Melly and he didnt even rap.

There are some very good coaches at the academies.
Given their recruiting limitations, they have to maximize what they have to work with, and they
often do.
They do alot on both sides of the ball. Navy had a DC who was just hired to an NFL, and their HC
is going to have opportunities as well.
We who follow coaches know about these cats.
I don't see we predicted it would be this coach.
Mario is certainly not a "lazy hire" type of coach.
