New NIL by Ruiz

I know it's not at Miami. But it's to a local high school.

He also already purchased a $49mil house. So his finances have been vetted by a mortgage company already. Unless he paid cash.
Bought the $49M house in April 2020 and then bought a $25M house in Sept 2021.

Barstool and those media outlets don't want us back with money. They will smere anything Ruiz does they hate us. They want the fan base divided.

Ruiz had done absolutely nothing for Miami in terms of $$$ as of now, all he has done is Twitter talk and no one knows Twitter talk better than TrumpyCane

@SWFLHurricane is correct the guy is full of **** with all this talking

You guys would eat your young, lol. Sure, try and alienate and rip one of the best things we potentially have going for us. I think if you game this out, he's really stuck his neck out in a community that can be very insular. If he were to pull the plug after all this talk, he'd be a laughingstock and would be ostracized. You don't do that in those circles. He also wouldn't fück with Mario like that IMO.

He just gave $10m to a fricking HS! He's already started walking the walk for this next philanthropic phase of his life. He also flat out said they have something major already in the works for baseball. Hard money pledged. I can't say if he will be able to miracle us a new stadium near campus, but this guy is maybe the richest guy in Miami right now if the numbers being thrown around are accurate, and that's saying something. The town has double-digit billionaires. And he's a UM alumnus and all of his children went to UM, including the sons who played baseball here. So it all fits.

IMO, a lot is already HAPPENING. And will be announced at the right time. You saw he announced the NIL foundation. Just a start.

I know it's not the internet thing to do, but maybe support a guy who is trying to be the SOLUTION. If the tin foil hat guys end up being right, you will all have your chance to pound on your keyboards.

In the meantime... enjoy the ride.

Politely, you have no idea if he has or hasn’t done anything for Miami with actual dollars. I mean, they guy could be funding a portion of Mario’s salary or assistants budget or infrastructure and you would have absolutely no idea. I dont know either, but I’m going to let this ride and play out before assuming anything.

Dude came on the scene very recently and now it seems people want to call him out for not ponying up yet. My guess is that he's doing his due diligence to ensure his money gets allocated by UM exactly how he wants it.

As I recall, when Donna's reign of terror began she made a rule that money could not be allocated to a specific sport. You could only donate to the university and she and her minions decided where the money would go. (Please correct me if Im wrong here - @mainecane & others).

Is it state schools and NOT private schools that this affects?? It says state schools but nothing on private schools whatsoever. No mention of Miami (or Florida).
Good question. Hopefully someone with more knowledge will chime in but I'm assuming it affects all schools based on the quote below. I remember reading that Miami currently has a 3rd party firm helping with their NIL stuff because of the original law's wording.

"LaMarca, the 53-year-old Florida state representative, filed a new bill Wednesday to amend the state’s name, image and likeness law making it easier for the Sunshine State’s schools to facilitate NIL deals for their athletes"
