Ruiz had done absolutely nothing for Miami in terms of $$$ as of now, all he has done is Twitter talk and no one knows Twitter talk better than TrumpyCane

@SWFLHurricane is correct the guy is full of **** with all this talking

Put up or shut up

You guys would eat your young, lol. Sure, try and alienate and rip one of the best things we potentially have going for us. I think if you game this out, he's really stuck his neck out in a community that can be very insular. If he were to pull the plug after all this talk, he'd be a laughingstock and would be ostracized. You don't do that in those circles. He also wouldn't fück with Mario like that IMO.

He just gave $10m to a fricking HS! He's already started walking the walk for this next philanthropic phase of his life. He also flat out said they have something major already in the works for baseball. Hard money pledged. I can't say if he will be able to miracle us a new stadium near campus, but this guy is maybe the richest guy in Miami right now if the numbers being thrown around are accurate, and that's saying something. The town has double-digit billionaires. And he's a UM alumnus and all of his children went to UM, including the sons who played baseball here. So it all fits.

IMO, a lot is already HAPPENING. And will be announced at the right time. You saw he announced the NIL foundation. Just a start.

I know it's not the internet thing to do, but maybe support a guy who is trying to be the SOLUTION. If the tin foil hat guys end up being right, you will all have your chance to pound on your keyboards.

In the meantime... enjoy the ride.

“Continued,” btw. 🙃

This is just an appetizer.

People expect things to just go into motion. The foundation is the key and one of the most important steps. Only Miami fans destroy our own and agree with outsiders who know nothing. Half this board was destroying Miami during the Ad and coach search , listening to outsiders who knew nothing. Out of all the fanbases I've been around this one is in a world of its own.

Putting some money where his talk is right? Good sign for the people who are skeptical I'd think
Someone I truly respect told me the Ruiz family is for real. This is just a sign of things to come.

I have said it before, people who reach this level of success like Ruiz Senior, do not pull off scams like this for "attention" or to "hang with players." He is nothing like Shapiro. This family actually loves the University.

I generally don’t like to insult anybody personally, but the “We don’t get to play with good toys” crowd is hard at work at their self-fulfilling prophecy. Life is too short, I’m enjoying the providence, come what may. It is definitely better than the past two decades, so far. GO CANES!!!

Helps me worry less. I’m still skeptical on the grander plans until his company going public is official.

Why is that? You do understand that whether the SPAC merger goes through or not he's still worth billions, right? It's not like his company is going to zero if this deal falls apart. It still prints money and will still be a major acquisition target. He is a 70% shareholder in an 11-figure asset, amongst plenty of other investments no doubt. Dude spend almost 9-figures on real estate last year.

Not the first time that I've seen posters imply a weird take that if this deal doesn't go through all bets are off.

Yes, think value was at 9 billion if I'm not mistaken.
