the funny part is abercrombie is making better UM licensed apparel than Adidas is.

I got some dope **** from them last year.. I remember walking by the store minding my business as I have never gone in that store before and saw they had some gear that caught my eye and was pleasantly surprised.. Some of the best stuff I bought and get asked about it every time I rock it..

Seems that there are two things in discussion, How the company outfits the team and how they make apparel for the fans.. I just dont know anyone who can look at the stuff Nike had us rocking after like 2004 and say it was good.. But there apparel for fans is just better overall it seems.. Adidas once we got past the feathers has been good enough on design keeping it clean and simple but the cut, fit and quality can be critiqued but the apparel for fans seem to be lacking and wont change.. Then you have to take value and payment into account..

But if we gave Nike 10 consecutive years to continue tinkering with (basically) two designs (the feathers and the "traditional"), I think that they would have nailed it a lot sooner.

We can go on and on and on and on about the designs that were approved from 2000-2014. Yes, those were not the "traditional" jersey. And like so much of the Nike-adidas threads, it's an apples-to[-oranges comparison.

Let's compare apples to apples. The "traditional" Nike jerseys from the late 1980s to 1999 **** on anything that adidas has done. Period.

If we want to criticize the Miami ADs and Nike designers who embraced bold new designs in the new millenum, fine. But let's not assume that's what we would get with Nike in 2028, IF MIAMI DEMANDS TRADITIONAL JERSEYS.

Dude, they're essentially the same jerseys lol. I get it, we were winning National Championships back then and Nike is the popular brand. However, if you take the logo off the uniforms, the 2025 jerseys clears just about everything

I agree, the uniforms have looked better, but the gear for us fans, is ******* beyond awful. The fit is so incredibly different between common items, the designs look horrible, and as stated on here by someone else, the best gear is only available to players and coaches.

a small in one shirt looks like an XS while the medium looks like a small and in another shirt the ******* S looks like a M and the M looks like a L.

We have competent people in the program now who can approve the design stuff. That’s the easy part. Adidas can’t replicate the quality

I wish they'd give the players better gear to rock in their walk ups.

like Adidas has popular street wear shoes right now that are up there with Nikes but they dont provide any of them to the players.

same with the apparel.

The "2015 jersey" wasn't just a one-off abortion.

The jersey was SUPPOSED TO BE our permanent jersey for 2016 and beyond (photos below).

The "clean, traditional jersey" was SUPPOSED TO BE A THROWBACK FOR THE FSU GAME.

Except for the fact that Richt hated the 2015-2016 jersey SO BAD that we wore "throwbacks" for the next 9 games.

And made the "throwback" our permanent jersey in 2017.

Yea but do they understand that and even care if Adidas will give them a few more dollars to be saddled with a more ****** company, also the relationship matters also. Even tho Nike may be better overall from a fans/culture perspective, does it matter if they not taking care of the team and outfiiting them correctly compared to teams they value more like UO?

The sad part is, you are completely missing the point on a very important thing.

I'm not claiming that Nike "invented" or had a patent on our "traditional" uniforms. Nike basically improved slightly on our RUSSELL jerseys of the early 1980s.

Therefore, the REAL point in all of this is simple. Let's compare apples to apples to apples.

Were the Russell "traditionals" great? YES.

Were the Nike "traditionals" great? YES.

Are the adidas "traditionals" great? After 10 years of tinkering, YES.

But yet people keep bringing up the "oranges" of 2000-2014, which were agreed upon by our ADs and were not forced down our throats. Not to mention that Beta Blake LOOOOOVED the 2015 uniforms so much that he brought them back for 2016, before the Richt veto.

To me, continuous year-over-year improvement in uniforms over a 10-year span is a lot better than significantly declining year after year over a 27-year run

At the end of the day, all signs point toward us staying with Adidas. Whether you like it or not, that seems to be the direction we’re heading. There’s no sense in going back and forth about it. Let’s be real, the fans opinions on the merch and uniforms means nothing to our athletic department

There was not a "decline" under Nike. The first millenial design was pretty well-received, even if people in 2026 are now downgrading it.

The bra-straps were not good.

There was nothing wrong with the 2008-2013 design besides the "framing stripes" on the back of the jersey. I wish that Hocuntt or the Shermanator would have stepped in to fix that. Everything else was a clean and simple design.

People tend to forget the HUGE positive reactions the players had on the 2014 uniform unveiling. They loved it. If the 2014 jersey has suffered in people's estimation since then, that's a different issue.

I have NEVER said anything about adidas not being the likely company to get the next contract ever since I was told that the fix was in. I'm not saying Nike WILL get the contract. I know that is unbelievably unlikely to happen, though I'd like to think that the next AD might have the same veto power that Mark Richt exercised in 2016 after the F$U game.

What I am arguing against is the Miami Mafia (store owners, media reporters, etc.) continuing to spin a bunch of bull**** lies that make it appear that adidas is the clearly better choice over Nike, in much the same way that they did back in 2014-2015.

Vote for whomever you choose. But don't base that vote on lies and myths.

Uhhhh...yes. As I acknowledge. Because our coach forced the AD to do so, but otherwise Beta Blake was THRILLED with the 2015-2016 jersey design.

And, no, we don't have to "go back" to anything. Miami decides what jerseys it will wear, not Nike. Nike can design and propose, but Miami decides. And THAT fact has gotten lost in all of the myth-making.

I get it — you’re passionate about this stuff. The uniforms we’ve had the last few years have, in my opinion, been the best we’ve ever had, so it’s one of those things where if it isn’t broke, don’t fix it.

As far as the “athletic wear” goes, I tend to avoid both Nike and Adidas. I don’t particularly love either brand’s stuff, and there are probably 10 other brands I’d rather wear. Even with running shoes, I usually just go to Fleet Feet because there are a lot of better options. As long as it has a cool Miami design, I’ll buy it. The brand itself doesn’t matter that much to me. There are so many brands out there that sell canes gear

My friend, I am not just "passionate about this stuff". I've actually worked in this area when I was with NASCAR (apparel contracts, marketing, co-branding, etc.). This is why I am insistent upon "actual facts and data" for our apparel deals, rather than Harry yapping about how Nike gives "bad customer service" (which somehow is not a complaint at the 100 other schools that work with Nike) or random Miami fans spinning archaic myths on how big bad Nike hated Miami 12 years ago and treated us like a dog.

So when you speak of "best deal", it MIGHT...hear me out...just MIGHT be a good idea to put two vicious animals in a ring to let them battle it out. I fail to see how a bid-free award of renewal rights to adidas will yield a "best deal", particularly given how quickly adidas gave Louisville a better deal than Miami's deal 10 years ago. Do you personally think we will get a "best deal" by giving adidas the inside-track and not allowing a comparable Nike presentation or bid? Even Michael Jordan wanted to pick adidas in 1984, before he heard what Nike had to say.

Right now...right now...Utah is about to flip from UnderArmour to adidas. Yay, another non-blue-blood on the adidas roster. Yay. Seriously, besides Miami, who are the college football blue-bloods with adidas?

Nebraska? Washington? GaTech? Indiana? Those are all schools that have won a championship in the last 40 years, but it's not an impressive roster of football teams (except maybe for Indiana, who was **** for the prior 39 years).

If these are our peers, just kill me now. Can't we be mentioned in the same breath as Alabama or Southern Cal or Georgia or Clemson or Michigan or Taint or even (god help me) Florida?

We. Were. THE FIRST-EVER ALL-NIKE SCHOOL. That should mean something. Instead, we have a bunch of people arguing over how much we should value a throwback uniform that became our permanent uniform, as if that is the apex of our considerations.

Couldnt we just tell nike we want to stay as close to this traditional look and Everyone is happy? Product on field stays same and fans get quality apparel to support team
