MEGA New Miami Adidas Ultraboost🔥 - The Shoe and Nike/Adidas Thread.

I'm convinced some of you are either insanely overweight or have absolutely no style whatsoever. Adidas may not put out as much stuff as Nike did(Which is funny because a lot that variety never got bought anyway), but there's more than enough stuff for you to be sharp on gameday. Maybe because as I've gotten older, I'm a polo and shorts guy, with the sweatshirts and gym wear being for non gameday, but I've never had a problem finding quality Adidas gear. The one gripe I have with them is that when they hit on a good Player Exclusive design or concept, they will not release it to the general public. I'll never understand why they can't do limited runs of stuff, especially when there's a legit hunger for certain items. Know when to capitalize on something going viral.

Yet another one of your bull**** posts that attempts to weave an alternate reality that simply isn't true.

"A lot of that variety never got bought anyway". Nothing could be further from the truth. I enrolled at UM in 1986. We STILL had unsold 1983 national championship t-shirts in the UM Bookstore. Why? Because they were garbage. The green wasn't right, the design was amateurish, and it wasn't quality name-brand merch. Couple years later, we became THE FIRST SCHOOL to sign an all-sports/all-in apparel and shoe deal with Nike, and we never looked back.

We sold PLENTY of variety in the 1980s. And 1990s. And 2000s. Sure, maybe by the last few years of the Nike contract, our poor play began to lead to less demand for merch.

But what you conveniently ignore is how demand spiked once again, ACROSS THE ENTIRE COLLEGIATE APPAREL INDUSTRY, with the rise of Fanatics.com and other online vendors (including the shoe companies' own sites). The need to "get to All Canes in August-September" abated, as you could buy merchandise all year long and without needing to find a parking spot on campus or on Ponce. If adidas had been our vendor in the 2000s, the sales would have been abysmal. And one only needs to look at OTHER schools that have joined up with Nike over the last 10 years, schools that do not have nearly the same brand-name, brand-awareness, brand-loyalty, and (most importantly) a climate where you can wear athletic apparel 365 days of the year.

But, hey, congratulations to you for "never having a problem finding quality adidas gear". It's only been 10 years. And the quality was definitely better at the beginning. I have an orange adidas polo and a green adidas polo from about 6 or 7 years ago that still hold up well. Meanwhile, the adidas polos I've purchased in the last couple of years are terrible.

I've already made my decision. I will no longer purchase any new apparel from adidas (though I reserve the right to buy a pair of UM shoes when they are marked down to half-price). The Colosseum and Fanatics polos that I have purchased over the past 2 years have been just as good (if not better) than the adidas polos, and for a lower price. And for the fancier stuff, I am paying the price premium for Champion and Tommy Bahama and Reyn Spooner and Cutter & Buck and Mitchell & Ness and Peter Millar. Those brands look better and last longer than what adidas is currently producing.

Keep us posted on this...I dont follow close enough. And as usual my cheap self dropped the ball when last years model went on sale the other day.

I posted in another thread some old Eastbay pages. I mean every few months they had pages of new Miami stuff. I started mowing lawns at 12 to support my Eastbay Miami habit. Always a true fit. Now I'm 45 and def need to drop 10-15lbs but I buy a large and I feel like Desmond Watson.

Yeah, I've previously been negative about the shoes, but I've now seen an adidas sales history that the last half-dozen shoes released are then at clearance prices within about 6-8 months. Currently, Fanatics (and/or CanesWear) have the black UltraBoost 1.0, the gray AlphaBoost, the green "Centennial" shoe (looks like a Nike Dunk), and the HORRIBLE green SuperNova on sale (along with the orange slides from last year). So that is five different shoes that are still hanging around at reduced prices.

As for the clothing, yeah, I've got Nike stuff that is twice as old as my adidas stuff, but holds up better. I'm just over adidas. I don't give a **** what they offer us in cash, especially since @Rellyrell has pointed out that adidas usually breaks its promises. We just need to get back to Nike.

Nike really wants their Women's Basketball team. I see you, Dawn.

Dawn is a long time Nike athlete, she was featured in the old “Freestyle” Nike basketball ads. That said, I wonder what the numbers are. Wouldn’t be shocked if SCar took a little less because this makes Dawn happy and she is by far the most valuable person on campus. If she’s happy, it’s worth it because her program is that valuable.

It’s not just Dawn, who sits on Nike’s female empowerment board:

-Aja Wilson just became a Nike signature athlete
-Kamilla Cardoza is a Nike athlete
-Xavier Legette is a Nike athlete
-Deebo Samuels is a Jordan Brand athlete
-Stephon Gilmore is a Jordan Brand athlete
-Alshon Jeffrey is a Jordan Brand ambassador
-Melvin Ingram is a Jordan Brand ambassador

UA is hemorrhaging $$; they r trading at $4.88 right now. Their previous contract was at $7.1m in total compensation in both product and cash. I’m going to assume with A’Ja & Dawn being prominent figures in Nike’s initiatives, they’ll be receiving an $8-10m evaluation w royalties & performance bonuses.

10 yrs $77.5m + bonuses + royalties (15%). Based upon USCe revenue, & approximating that only 15% of that comes from apparel sell, their total contract w/o performance bonus will be approximately $8.1m/yr.

Told ya’ll other companies like Colosseum & now Hollister have more heat for us than Adidas.

I have purchased SEVERAL Colosseum items. Superior to adidas. Less expensive than adidas.

As I said elsewhere, I'm done with adidas. Ten years has been enough, I'm OUT for the last two years. No mas.

Not a great deal, but apparently South Carolina wanted the swoosh. It’s worse than what Auburn got.

They’ll be making more $$ w Nike than they did w UA, & there’s part of the contract that was not disclosed.

& since u laughed @Hurracanes, their contract is actually outperforming ours as it currently stands. There’s several ppl on this thread that have experience in apparel language, but only two that’s active in this thread, w me being one of them.

ALL of Nike’s contracts are convertible, which is why u can clearly see in brackets there’s cash allotments in place. There’s several cash performance bonuses attached to the back end of this deal w/ CFB being able to cumulatively combine all bonus into an add’l $1m. Then there’s something called the A’Ja clause which immensely helps out USCe.

Between base, apparel, royalties, performance, USCe could earn up to $10.3m/yr, but no less than $7.8 will be furnished. Between A’Ja & Dawn, USCe….wait, did I also mention Nike’s current CEO is also on TCU’s BOT, where former TCU AD & now current USCe AD Jeremiah Donati is from? OK, so between Wilson, Staley, & their AD who’s friends w Nike’s CEO, do u actually think they would be screwed on this deal? Lol.

Auburn doesn’t nearly have the same amount of hidden incentives as USCe. Lastly, Nike is also redesigning USCe’s basketball court as part of the deal that wasn’t disclosed.
