Our cheap, useless fanbase talks so much noise, but does nothing. Unless the program is dominant, this fanbase will do exactly what they've always done: SIT ON THEIR ASSES AND NOT BUY MERCH. Nike lowballed us in the first place because they had years of shelf puppy stock, because unlike Michigan, Tennessee, etc., places where fans will buy merch year in and year out, Miami fans didn't. There's a direct correlation between team success and merch sales at Miami, to a level rarely seen in collegiate athletics. Can yall imagine that moment Miami posts uniforms with Nike or Jordan?? It would sell out instantly. That’s why we need to be with Nike / Jordan!
It was comical how long you could get your hands on new stuff years after Nike stopped production of certain templates/designs. I still remember talking to Harry (Back when he was at AllCanes) about this and he said "There are Nike shirts from two years ago we can't get rid of, we'll end up giving them away, or putting them in swag bags for stuff, because there's no way they will ever sell, they didn't in the first place". If you are expecting decades of fan behavior to change merely because of a return to Nike, prepare for disappointment. You'll get a pop from the Nike cultists, but long term, it'll be much of the same.
