New Football Jersey Numbers Thread

Why every time jersey numbers are brought up, you have people like AHH I HATE DOUBLE NUMBERS!!!? Do you not realize that every team does it? There are over 100 players on rosters, so what's your solution? Have player's wear triple digit jerseys? Stop the insanity.

They didn't do double numbers at UGA or USC. But Alabama does it. It helps recruiting, I'm not a fan of it. During the draft they kept posting pictures of Mark Walton instead of Artie Burns.

Until recently, walk-on players got stuck with the doubled up numbers, so you'd rarely see two guys with the same number actually playing in a game. The NCAA only says players with the same number can't be on the field at the same time. I guess the demand for more popular numbers has changed they way they do things.

I don't know, is Colbert going to be able to uphold Dallas Crawford's legacy?

If you mean an unselfish guy who always put team first, never publicly trashing the coach who put him in the absolute worst possible position to succeed; than Yes. I hope so. Nobody remembers the lean Dallas Crawford that came in to the program before U-FAT helped him to gain 15 lbs killing the little fast twitch he did have. I bet he would've been very productive had he gone with Michigan.

Crawford was a great special teams player and could have been a productive slot receiver. It's not his fault the staff didn't recruit better safeties and rotated the guys they did have.

kid should have slimmed down a bit and been like the weaver twins for us. He and McCord were special team killers for us, that was until the ****** staff didn't recruit correctly and the kids were put out of place. These two showed huge promise early in their careers. It's funny how our players for the most part got worse not better the longer they were with us. Not all but a good bit of them. I remember watching Luther and the other DT that they made play patty cake decline big time from their freshmen year. They gave a lot of us something to be excited about!
