Not surprised at the new guys already high on the depth chart. Al didn't talk them up as soon as he could and they didn't come here for one year to sit the bench.
The depth chart is a generic form used to show an overview of the team. It doesn't take into account specialized roles like Renfrow in a goal line jumbo package, or Cornelius in coverage situations, or Tyriq in the nickel and dime pass rush packages. The depth chart doesn't simply mean the second string becomes first string in the event of injury....roles and packages come into play much more.
Besides that, this is a depth chart a week and a half before the season starts that's as much a reward for hard work as is it motivation for the guys not wearing black.
Golden isn't coaching to lose games, he knows what he's doing and has guys listed where they are for a reason.
