Hoping occasional right? I don't think he's that bad anymore and has a solid plan with solid adjustments. That said, wtf happened at Stanford?? I mean ****. Conversely, he put his foot on the Buckeyes in Columbus.

In the Buckeyes game there was a play where the defender was stuck looking at the sidelines while OSU scored. It was a great win. Huge. But the ugly head was not totally gone that day either.

Agreed on hoping it is occasionally, but penalties ranking up there with Miami also makes me wonder.

Let’s get one of these top guys and start rolling.

If Mario doesn’t have nfl aspirations, he is a no brainer. Everyone on that list would jump ship at another opportunity. Not necessarily a bad thing but Mario’s commitment is certainly different than the others

I was torn, but I chose Mario. I think longterm he is the better candidate although Lane is more apt to come in & win quicker. Great problem to have & would be ecstatic with either.

I choose Mario before Lane. Lane hasn’t won anything, ever.

Though at the end of the day, I question if either chooses us.

Why do people think Lane doesn’t care about defense? He’s the son of Monty Kiffin, maybe the greatest defensive coordinator of all time.

I’m leaning toward Lane, with Mario a close second. Because Lane would have X’s and O’s figured out on BOTH sides of the ball right off the bat. Maybe the most elite X’s and O’s guy in all of college football.

Other thing is, Kiffin would be able to assemble a better STAFF than Mario. Partly because of his dad, and partly because he’s coached so many places. He has a wider net and more cache in coaching circles outside South Florida

Mario would still be excellent though. Either guy could win here and be a huge step up from Manny IMO

Stoops is the 15th-highest paid coach in the country and is set to make $5.25 million this season. His total contract buyout as of Dec. 1, 2021 is $19.9 million.

I’d like to see you make an updated who will be the coach in 2022 thread? With hundreds of votes. I just can’t see Cristobal/Lane being here. One can dream..
