New candidate for SC

From what little research I did (he has quite a few vids out there from his time at Ball St), I actually think we’re in good hands w him.

Hester would’ve been the homespun hire, but Feeley is light years ahead of Felder (who’s only head coach position was in HS - he was an asst everywhere else).

Feeley worked under Jeff Dillman as well, so that’s good news (Dillman is one of the best in the biz).

We have a nutrionist - now all we need is a PED coach.

Dillman is not one of the best in the business. He’s a ******* nobody too.

Don’t like this hire at all. What are his degrees in? Couldn’t find anything, which leads me to believe they are not in anything related to human physiology. Why didn’t Collins take him to GT with him? Probably because at GT he could afford better. Why didn’t Mario pick him up at Oregon?

There is no chance this guy’s S&C program is elite. Based on his resume, he’s never even seen an elite S&C program.
Manny promoted this guy to assistant athletic director and probably gave him a raise. Maybe that’s why he stayed.

He had one year with South Carolina and their guy is decent but it’s not enough. Too many high end guys out there.

No, dude isn’t turning down a P5 Head S&C job for a raise and promotion at Temple.

It’s a S&C position which means no way they’re getting paid that much. Especially at GT.

In fact, per USA Today, GT paid the lowest salary out of reported salaries in the ACC. So low that it would be even the lowest in the reported AAC salaries for S&C coaches. Source: http://sports.usatoday.com/ncaa/salaries/football/strength

I don’t disagree though that the appeal is more tempting. But if you have a family then maybe getting a bump to 180k or 200k beats out a salary of 160k. The chances of someone being blown away by your performance at GT and getting a bigger job is slim when you’re an S&C coach.

Bro, this dude’s resume is straight trash. If this hire is true, my confidence in Diaz, which was shaky to start, is going down hill.

If Diaz doesn’t realize that Miami needs an elite S&C program also then, he simply doesn’t know what Miami needs.

I hear ya, I’m not blown away by the hire either.

But I’m not debating whether he’s good or not. I’m just saying that maybe Geoff did actually want him but Manny offered him a better title and more money to keep him.

Zero evidence to this thought other than message boards and rumors. No one is putting candidates out there but locals.

One thing is absolutely certain, when the ink is on the paper, manny, will in each case, state tha the person we got was his first choice, then one he was after, and the best for the job. Then his supporters on here will sing thier praises. Anyone who dares to say something like “who the fu$$ is this due?” will be attacked.

Mark’s staff was a bunch on nobodies from day one with two exceptions, a dude who got fired from the one job he ever have at a real football program as DC and a DL coach who had been fired from a quasi real program. Half that staff is being kept, minus one of those two with other now in charge. The creeping sound you hear is the bottom of the ship breaking.

The guy at La tech blows this out of the water.
True but remember that Kirt Hester got into sports strength and conditioning as a business venture so his resume is going to be 4x better. The other has worked through colleges.

You have a point. My issue is that he’s bounced around and the colleges he’s been to haven’t been great when he was there. The highlight of the resume sounds like being an assistant at USCe during a 7-6 season.

The only thing I like is Geoff Collins thought he was worthy enough to hire.. but that was at Temple and he didn't take him with him. Underwhelming.

Ok , where’s Hester , don’t care winners are winners even in BIDNE world even better he’s battle tested.

HESTER

The Owlicanes!!! Keep trying to build that Michelin restaurant with fry salters from Burger King.

Now someone scurry in here and tell me Alabaga and Clemson’s Head SC guys were poached from 24 Hour Fitness. Make me feel better about this guy who worked for Collins and Cristobal but neither wanted him. Or do I have to wait for Diaz to tell me he was the only choice and that he considers him the best SC guy in the country?

Our S&C coach (Viscera) was the 112th out of 131 D1 programs. Yet again we are going poverty level at a position that y’allz folk hero Nick Saban calls the most important.

Bad hire when money brings real talent in.

Thank u. Homers will convince themselves of anything. If this truly is our new S&C guy when S&C was a problem and have been a problem for several years now, then shame on these homers trying to justify this hire. U get someone from a school that has a good S&C program, or a guy who has a pretty good history of running S&C programs.
