New Barry Jackson: Trustees Seek Change in Offense

We don't need to pay an OC $1+mm, we can hire 5 new staffers for $1.2MM

Miami can hire
David Yost as OC/QB coach for $500k
Ryan Silverfield (from Memphis) as OL coach for $375k
Bob Stitt as Offensive Analyst for $125k
Sean Gleeson (Princeton OC) as offensive Analyst for $75k
Jason Shumaker (from Utah St) as Special Teams analyst $60k

Thomas brown can be the RB/running game coordinator/associate head coach an take a pay cut to $450k since Richt wont need a mouth piece. He can stay an learn the spread concepts from the new coaches.

Ron dugans can remain the WR/Passing Game Coordinator/associate head Coach same salary

***** looking forward to my kids enjoying Christmas all I want is this lol!

Imagine hiring a legit $1 million OC/QB coach and Richt just being the CEO. He could control these issues in the locker room more effectively and be more involved in the areas that are lacking and hold his staff more accountable.. for instance get involved with the OL if they aren't performing or the WR if they drop passes... instead of being so involved with QBs and installation that you don't have time for it and you rely only on that position coach.

If it was anyone other than his son at QB coach I could see it but idk. Not only that but you would also have to strip the title of CO-OC away from Brown and Dugans. Presents 3 issues... taking titles away from 2 guys and expecting them to stick around happily.. and firing your son. Neither of those are going to happen. Any good names out there that can legitimately call plays and coach an OL? Don't see those 2 positions held simultaneously very often and for good reason. You need the OC to be very involved with the QB.

Not gonna say we could have our choice of OC for that money but we could have a **** good one to pair with Manny. I believe in Richt the CEO but not what he's doing now.
Lost me at believe in Richt...

Those are All significant salary increases.

Amazing job Paranos, can you send the email to the BoT with these changes stat? All of them would be significantly better than what we have and are paying now. If Brown or Duran’s have an issue, show them the door. It’s about time they were held to the fire for raping our school these past 3yrs. They don’t like it, then show them the door and save @1.5mil.

UM never open the purse for a coach before Richt/Frenk, just seemed like he cared about football.

A case of mistaken identity I see.

I don't think it's a matter of whether Dr. Frenck likes football or any sports. He gets the importance of athletics - football in particular- to the overall well being of the university. donors like good, high profile sports programs and football is one of the biggest. It attracts not only donors but lots of out of state kids who pay full tuition

Sounds like what they did at Georgia and failed.

While it's great that people of importance are speaking out, let's see what really happens after the bowl game. $1 million for an OC can basically buy you anyone you want but will that person really be in charge?

How are you not on staff lol it’s insane that you have a guy like Blake James hire a search firm to find you mark richt

The reason attendance has not been a problem is because the excitement from winning at FSU and curb stomping ND brought many new season ticket holders … hold your breath and wait to see what is going to happen now ….. big drop off coming
Unfortunately I locked into the 12 month plan .....

How about Bill Bedenbaugh from Oklahoma? Top OL coach in NCAA and the co-OC for Riley. Makes 625k per year. Might be interested in a move once Riley takes Browns job. Kills two birds with one stone.

Vilma said he knew Richt would be a great hire because he seemed like he didn’t give a **** at the interview. He thought Richt being a broken man after losing the Georgia job meant he had an intense passion. Turns out no, Richt just doesn’t give a ****. Never hire someone who seems like they don’t care lol. Christ

Serious question because I really don’t follow OK closely enough, is he really involved with the play calling/offense or is he just a CO-OC like Dugans is here?
