New Barry Jackson: Trustees Seek Change in Offense

Vilma said he knew Richt would be a great hire because he seemed like he didn’t give a **** at the interview. He thought Richt being a broken man after losing the Georgia job meant he had an intense passion. Turns out no, Richt just doesn’t give a ****. Never hire someone who seems like they don’t care lol. Christ
Where did you see that and **** that doesn’t make sense.

We don't need to pay an OC $1+mm, we can hire 5 new staffers for $1.2MM

Miami can hire
David Yost as OC/QB coach for $500k
Ryan Silverfield (from Memphis) as OL coach for $375k
Bob Stitt as Offensive Analyst for $125k
Sean Gleeson (Princeton OC) as offensive Analyst for $75k
Jason Shumaker (from Utah St) as Special Teams analyst $60k

Thomas brown can be the RB/running game coordinator/associate head coach an take a pay cut to $450k since Richt wont need a mouth piece. He can stay an learn the spread concepts from the new coaches.

Ron dugans can remain the WR/Passing Game Coordinator/associate head Coach same salary

The problem is you’re assuming since Yost makes nothing now that the value hasn’t went up. Yost’s next position will probably be at least 800k because you’re not batting what he makes now your battling what everybody else is willing to pay

Yeah but which high profile schools are gonna be looking for high price OCs? Who are we gonna be outbidding? And between Yost briles Spavital freeze we should be able to get our guy for a doable price

Yost is a family guy first and that is why he left Mizzou. He was spending way to much away from his family. An anywhere he goes in the future he has to have time spend with his family or have them come by his office.

Mark Richt is a family first coach. So between the money and the flexibility plus the access to ridiculous talent Yost would be nuts not to come to UM, if he is given the freedom to run his offense. In 3yrs he could have his pick of HC jobs after he supercharges Miami offense to avg 50pts a game for multiple years.

Here is an article about Yost seeking Work life balance.

Thank God for Trustee A! Unfortunately we will get nowhere letting Richt hire an OC at this point, anyone he picks out is not worth having as he picked the current staff on offense and not sure outside of Dugans that any are worth it. Richt picking an OC today is like the difference in the technology in a hyundair today vs. the technology of the space shuttle, we would spend a lot of money getting that space shuttle technology but it is out of date and a hyundai has more techological capabilities today.

They knew
If they didn’t force Golden’s hand, they won’t force Richt’s.
They could fire Golden, but they can't fire Richt at this point. Big difference. The are spending money now, unlike any other time in our history, and they want results.

Paranos for AD! Here, this is for you.

Can she run block?

This is really just kicking the can down the road. If this doesn’t work and you have a guy $1m a year, you just added to the total buyout significantly.

Not really. How often are assistant coaches locked into guaranteed contracts?

Defense is good enough to win championships right now. That’s because we have a great coordinator. All we need is to replicate the same formula with the offense.

I don't think it's a matter of whether Dr. Frenck likes football or any sports. He gets the importance of athletics - football in particular- to the overall well being of the university. donors like good, high profile sports programs and football is one of the biggest. It attracts not only donors but lots of out of state kids who pay full tuition

This.

I don't have to like the UM Chemistry Department, but I do need to know it's important that the one we have is a great one.

Unless they are on a year to year contract, all of them. I am sure they have buyout language similar to the head coach. Which on an unrelated note, despite last offseason’s extension, we don’t know what Richt’s is... knowing Blake James negotiated it, I’m sure it is high.
