New Barry Jackson: Trustees Seek Change in Offense

We don't need to pay an OC $1+mm, we can hire 5 new staffers for $1.2MM

Miami can hire
David Yost as OC/QB coach for $500k
Ryan Silverfield as OL coach for $375k
Bob Stitt as Offensive Analyst for $125k
Sean Gleeson (Princeton OC) as offensive Analyst for $75k
Jason Shumaker (from Utah St) as Special Teams analyst $60k

Thomas brown can be the RB/running game coordinator/associate head coach an take a pay cut to $450k since Richt wont need a mouth piece. He can stay an learn the spread concepts from the new coaches.

Ron dugans can remain the WR/Passing Game Coordinator/associate head Coach same salary

One question- are those the same salaries they are making now or do they include raises?

Manny Diaz about to be HC somewhere next year. Who we get to run defense for a year before Richt gets fired
If not most Coaches might bail before Richt gets the hook next year
Didn’t see this coming tbh

“The play-calling stinks. Mark should be paying attention to the whole game instead of calling plays. Al Golden didn’t want to listen to us about [firing defensive coordinator] Mark D’Onofrio and the same thing is happening here. He has to look at his son [quarterbacks coach Jon Richt] and the offensive line coach [Stacy Searels]. This is the problem with hiring your son. Our special teams aren’t good enough. There are a lot of problems.”

Stuff like this honestly caught me off guard. They weren't exactly pulling any punches and its almost like I was reading CIS.
Whoever said this, is my *****

Deliver briles to me!!!
Spavital/Yost are 2a 2b

Also anyone wondering why richt is **** at special teams? Guy played qb(not well also) so he never knew what it’s like to run down full speed on a kickoff and block for your boys on a return. Or crack someone on a punt return. He has no appreciation for it

“Blake’s job,” that trustee said, “is to ask Richt to explain what are we doing to make changes and tell him, ‘what you’re doing isn’t working.’ If Mark’s stubborn, you get stubborn with him. Blake is an excellent AD and this is part of his job.”

This is the part that has me worried. Will Blake do this? Blake likes clean hands. Great fundraiser this guy is, but I'm not sure if he has the balls to go to to toe w/ a veteran head coach who was just given an undeserved extension as suggested by him.
He **** sure better do it now that it’s been aired out publicly by his bosses that that’s his job. If he wants to keep stealing checks, then he better listen to these specific marching orders.

If Barry is telling the truth that he talked to BOT members, then I dont think that Rick or Blake can blow them off. Based on their comments, it sounds like they read this board. That being the case, they also know that Rick will try to hire a "yes man" who runs a similar archaic offense. I'm guessing they will be on the lookout for that and doesn't sound like the BOT (one member at least) has a problem with telling Blake "no" to the idea of another Rick sycophant.

This article is one bit of good news in an otherwise bleak day.

The bad news is that when it takes a bunch of high rollers who aren't football professionals to put pressure on a 4 million a year HC to change a garbage offense and who are publicly mocking him (rightfully so BTW) for hiring his dunce of a son, not fixing an obviously bad special teams, and essentially calling him a moron for running an offense that isn't suited to the personnel because he is living in the past, then I think it's safe to say that the HC is finished.
