Never really in doubt but confirmed by CMR on Joe Rose show

Exactly. That’s that Michigan State/Pitt Dantonio/Narduzzi defefense. They’re going to sell out to stop the run and be incredibly vulnerable against the pass. If you have a good passing QB you can kill that defense like Kaaya did a couple years ago.

Yep, that's been FSU's MO against us for eons - close to LOS and put pressure on the OL to run. They sell out for that and are always susceptible to the pass especially in the seams/across the middle. Our TEs have always excelled against them when we've been able to do this. Jordan has to have a big game.

We've played 5 games. Malik's played in 4. He can still take a redshirt & transfer like Bryant if that's what he wants to do, but realistically speaking, transfer options are unlikely. Everybody saw the LSU game. Regardless, this isn't some scheme from Richt to keep him from transferring.
He already redshirted, big fella. He’s stuck now unless he wants to drop down a level to fcs and try to get a starting gig there the last few games of this season.

I still think we’re going to need Malik Strock to come off the bench and rally us at some point this season.

UL starting RB's avg 5 ypc against FSU

Nice stat but the run was ineffective. Nobody knew that by watching the game but you who had to go and look it up. If you watched the game UL should have blew them out. They couldn't stop the pass and couldn't defend the middle of the field for nothing. They left at least 3 Tds on the field because the UL QB wasn't accurate. (sounds familiar)

biggest run was 14 yards so they consistenly got 5 ypc.

Vtech starting RB avg about 6 ypc.

I actually watched the game and knew it and I knew you were wrong as a mfer...just own it already or stfu.

I’m not going to say it’s good Richt waited but I would hate to be in the situation that Clemson is in.

Injuries can happen to anyone at anytime. You don’t not play the better player because what happened to Clemson *Might* happen.

He must continue to work on reading defenses. It's the next step in his evolution and the weakest part of his game.

He already reads defenses better than the starter he replaced. Maybe I’m just not used to having a natural QB back there.

He'll go back to Rosier. As much as he has struggled it's always good to have a backup with the experience of Rosier.
Couldn't agree more. Rosier IS a gamer, at times at least. If all he has to do is play from the backup role, he could do very well when he sees the field. No, not magically make passes he couldn't before, but make enough plays to get a score or two while limiting mistakes. I'll take that from a backup any day.

i told yall this **** all offseason and after week 1. Nkosi not starting has more to do with who he is as a man and not his abilities as a player.
glad he got out of his own way.

now lets eat

He will have to put all the trust in the world in him on Saturday. After watching that UL/FSU game it will be tough to run against that 3-4 Defense they got over there.

But they are unbelievably horrible against the pass (especially the middle of the field. Was wide open and the UL QB just couldn't hit it.). If they were playing a team with a decent QB they would have been blown out. This has to be Perry's coming out party.

Thats why it is critical we are starting Nkosi. He seems to be really accurate throwing over the middle and thats where the money will be this weekend. Give him a clean pocket, remind him to use his checkdowns, and account for Burns on every play (gotta know where he is lined up at all times). We do that, we win. Control TOP by doing those things and the rest will be ok....

Kosi earned it. Better question to ask CMR is what took so long?

The kid had " maturity issues " and what not. Also, he probably had some difficulty with the playbook and reading defenses at " game speed. " At least that's my guess.

People were writing Richt off. I saw posters on here saying Richt and Rosier were “butt buddies”. But that’s what you get when people who don’t see anything between Saturdays try to make calls for the team.

Yeah. It makes one wonder if these Cane good ol' boys are really Cane fans and what not.:p

He said the suspension set Kosi back. If Kosi handles his business right, he would have been the starter day 1. You can tel Richt knows Kosi is the better talent but didn’t trust him. I’m glad Kosi has decided to step up and handle this like a job and run with it now.0
Just heard the Podcast from the Joe Rose today and YES, CMR confirms that he has seen the Perry starting for some time, it was clear to him that Perry is the better choice but had to be suspended for game 1. Seems very committed and happy with Perry.

the only way FSU can stay in the game is if we turn the ball over. i expect this to be Richt's number one lesson this week with Perry, considering his two turnovers (one his fault, the other not his fault)(he otherwise had a GREAT game). protect the ball and we win comfortably.

I am not one to question CMR motives and statements too often, if ever, but I'm not sure I bought that completely when I heard it.

JMO based on how incrementalist he has been, I think this is playing out very much as it always would.

There is no question Perry had to earn this job, and back into Richt's good graces, but I think the plan was to grind it out with Malik against LSU and then work Perry into what is/was a very soft run of the schedule. The winner QBs us into ACC play.

It's clear that Perry can make throws that Malik just can't, but I don't think he was going to enter the season QB1. He just never got the body of work with the 1s to suggest that was really on the table.

In short, I follow visits in recruiting and follow the reps in QBs.

I'll add that punts netting 15 to 20 yards are effectively a turnover.

Richt offering Joe Jax an opportunity on offense for some jump balls in the end zone "next year" was a classic!
