Heard that his dad told him something like you aren’t leaving until you can make more money than me and you aren’t doing it on a practice squad.

But I don’t know his dad and that was just out drinking the night before UNC with some people I didn’t know prior to that and he said he knew his dad. They post on here - so chime in if it was you lol
 
He needs to show to get drafted in a decent enough position in the NFL to make decent money. He would not even get a look until 5th round and may go undrafted at that. He comes back and has a solid season of consistency (I.e. doesn’t disappear every third play for a couple off), he can go in the 3rd and make a decent enough rookie contract to make a difference in his life no matter his level of success in the league.

I want Nesta to come back because DT is a rotation and he adds value.... but more generally, the problem with all these guys coming back is that Manny being Manny, he'll feel like he "owes" them something, and will start them no matter what.

Cam Harris is a good example. At this point, Cam is just taking snaps away from more talented players. If it were up to me, Chaney would be getting the majority of the snaps, followed by Knighton. That's nothing personal against Cam, but Chaney and Knighton are just more naturally talented, and our chances of winning with them are higher.

But if Cam comes back, Manny will start him. And it won't be because of talent or skill or anything earned, it will be because he thinks he owes it to him.... which is a terrible ******* way to run a program.

D, you think any chance Nesta and Brevin stay? Bolden I am not as concerned about. I think Williams can step in and take over for him.
 
So any u guys have a clue : the front 7 (other than scheme) problem is LB . WTF do we have to even hope for? All I have seen is non athletic non instinctual bone heads. The lil Flagg dude that ‘ gets everyone lined up ‘ but isn’t he a runt ? For our system don’t we want 4 guys w at least 2 that are actual players ? WO a couple solid LBs we are going to get exposed even w coaching overhaul ; and really since JJ (S) left I really think our ‘safety’ net has also left us exposed.

Wish him well in his future endeavors because he’s a Cane but honestly like so many over the past 20 years....I can’t remember a **** thing he did to distinguish himself. ... maybe if he had better coaches he woulda been a world shaker. Idk

What makes you think these under the table payments would stop if you had this ridiculous salary cap you speak of? That changes nothing besides making it more expensive to field a football team

Agreed. As long as you can “recruit” as many five stars as possible Bama, Inc. and the rest of the $EC will always have an edge.

Only way to eliminate it is for the nfl to stop being cheap and create a minor league system.

You also need some type of draft system and a reduction of teams. Not that I’m a fan of drafts but if bama knows it can’t pay and hoard players they won’t.

That’s why Saban left the Dolphins because he only has one first round pick each year.

The Georgias, Clemsons and bamas all sign 10-15 kids that have first round talent each year.

College football is destroying itself with this. Players guaranteed to go first or second round are unlikely to participate in non playoff bowls.

And it wouldn’t surprise me if a trend started where top ten guaranteed picks started opting out of playoffs. There really is no reason D Smith and Lawrence should be playing. It’s great for us but risk for them. Insurance doesn’t cover your second nfl contract.

Packers just lost their LT for the season. Lucky him he signed his big deal before. Prescott wasn’t so fortunate. You really think GR or that LT from Oregon didn’t play just because of Covid? It was a great excuse for them that freed them from getting crushed by fans.

The problem is I’m not sure there is a way to stop it. The big programs that generate most of the revenue isn’t going to agree to a new system that equalizes the playing field.

For the Bamas, equality is oppression. Let’s call it Bag Privilege.

This reminds me of the current unrest.
