Nesta & Greg

DL did their thing last night. That was the DL I thought we would see all year. Biggest play of the game was Ford being engaged with an OL and just swatting the **** of the ball forcing that fumble. Virginia looked like they were going to score that drive.

When highlights come out, watch Nesta and how much disruption he was making in the 4th qtr. He had the center on rollerskates, but was also keeping contain by staying in front of the QB to let Greg and co come off the edge.

Things just SEEMED difference on defense. There was a manny factor there. Hope this keeps up.
Nesta was talking to their QB, too. He's a wrecking ball.

Now if we can get the secondary to tighten up the defense will be set. As long as Manny reigns in Baker and his stupid blitz packages.

Here's the thing. The more reps Miller and Nesta get, the better Ford and Bethel will play, because they won't be so winded. Early in the season those two were getting 4/5ths of the snaps. Last night it was a relatively more even split, and they ALL looked better because of it.

Nesta was a huge factor. He single handedly took Perkins out of the game, mentally.
Nesta talked so much shid Perkins started focusing on Nesta more than his reads.

Nesta was all in the dline ear in the red zone after that huge return. Boy got that goon In him that makes the others rally

The starting DL should be:

GR-Ford-Nesta-Garvin

I said it before that at this point in the season Manny should know who the dawgs are. This is a critical point for us. He can still save the season and go 9-3. We don’t play LSU, OSU or Bama type teams here folks the rest of the way. IDGAF what UL did last night or how much posters are all of a sudden afraid of Duke and Pitt like they are playoff contenders. But the best players need to be on the field early and often.

2020 Defense has ridiculous potential
DE - *Garvin, Rousseau, Phillips, Patchan, Harvey
DT - Ford, Silvera, Miller, Blissett, Harrison-Hunte
LB - Brooks, Huff, McCloud
Striker - Frierson (Carter)
CB - *Bandy, Blades, Ivey, Couch, Williams
S - Hall, Bolden, Keontra Smith (Carter)

*juniors that hopefully stay
