Nebraska vs. Illinois/Early Games Thread

I missed the call. Frost is a dead man walking. This would be a horrible loss. I don't if Fat Bret took over Illinois.
Bret is the master of well-executed jet sweeps. Killing NU with 'em. RS Frosh Reggie Love III is a nice little RB for the Illini. Tough inside.

They’ve all left lol
Saw’em leaving Neb.

Frost should have never taken the job, he had a great thing going at UCF with very low pressure to win... he could have continued to build and grow as a coach. That Nebraska job would have always been there if and when he wanted it especially if he had 3 or 4 more really good seasons with UCF

He let his heart get in the way when taking the Nebraska job. Very rarely does it work out when an alum becomes the HC of the school they played for. The moment he accepted the job the pressure ramped up x's 1000...

Fraudst’s top two recruits right now are a 240lb ****** defensive lineman from Bolles and a white RB from Reno.
Who’s from Bolles? We’re on the rise. We’ve got JT Daniels too. Most of the Jews in the NFL in the modern era seem to be lineman - mostly OL.

I was one of those grown *** men, and I stand by my $h!t talking, no shame.

You must've forgot that He was talking mad $h!t about our QBs at the Spring Game, only to find out He had lousy, pathetic statistics in HS.

But I agree, good on Him for persevering.
I remember this. It was first mentioned on this board by one of our insiders who would know, IIRC

Two things they should outlaw in CFB:

1) WR signaling 1st down after a reception that moves the chains

2) DB signaling incomplete pass after an incomplete pass

In both instances the player is emulating gestures made by the referee. When did that become cool?

About the same time folks started getting erections and jacking off to football stuff. WAF

Thanks for sharing. It's good to know that you never ran your mouth when you were 17. I guess that gives you the right to throw stones. Keep standing by that with no shame.

BTW - How old were you in 2017? Back when you were talking **** on a 17 year old.

Almost HBCU time!

Alcorn vs NC Central. Don’t know much about Alcorn since this is the first year FAMU is in the SWAC, but I know we threw all over NC Central back in 2019.

So I’m picking Alcorn for the win.

I share this opinion. Scott Frost could have continued to build UCF to the point where they would have gotten a Big XII invitation. He could have done something even more significant than winning at Nebraska. He had a ton of momentum at UCF.

On balance, its tough to fault a guy for leaving a $1.8 million a year gig to take a $4 million a year gig. Even more so given that it was his alma mater.

Yeah, the “could have built something at UCF” speculation is just that—speculation. It’s also possible that he could’ve gotten mired in mediocrity at UCF after a few years, such that Nebraska would’ve never come calling.

Dude took his shot at the bigtime when he got the chance. It hasn’t worked out so far, and he’ll likely go back to a coordinator position—but he’s a few million bucks richer and will likely get another shot at an HC gig somewhere down the line.
