Nebraska vs. Illinois/Early Games Thread

Have not seen him yet, but UConn's offense has only been on the field for 3 plays every 5 minutes. lol

UConn is not a good football team. If he cant get any burn on that team he should focus on building his post-football career.

He should've been all along.

Remember when he was a senior and his high school coach all but said he could play, but opted out on his own? I knew right then he wouldn't make it.

Great guy from what I've heard. Football is just a means to life after football, but I respect him giving it a go elsewhere.

Sometimes it’s hard to imagine us getting back. But there is an Avenue. But I look at Nebraska and I just can’t even begin to comprehend how it would be possible
They are two totally different situations, and they are two programs going in different directions.

Nebraska could come back too, but aside from coaching it would require:

- Massive Enhanced Recruiting
- Strong NIL investment from the community
- Leveraging NU’s legacy

Frost is fin. Bort Bielema is as dumb as he looks, losing to him should be immediately fireable

Man Nebraska is stupid for trying to go all gimmick with their backyard. Go the wisconsin route and try to get the guys in your area thag are big and strong and go bully ball. They will never be anything trying to play finesse ball
Most schools have gone away from the bully ball and succeed. At one point, schools like OU, ND, Texas, OSU, etc., were perceived the same way as Nebraska but have found success in their growth. I believe it’s more of a reflection on their ****** coaches rather than history.

The stench of Al Golden is strong with Frost. Watching this Nebraska team is like watching a miami team from 2011-2015. No energy, no preparation, terrible QB Play, and it just gets worse and worse.
Never hire a coach that had success at a program whose budget dwarfs everyone else in their conference.

Easy. Admit they were wrong. Fire Frost. Go hard after Matt Campbell. They have the money and I think he’d be a great fit there. He gets to stay in the Midwest and goes to a program that has the resources and recruiting atmosphere that Iowa State lacks.
Actually, I don't see Nebraska as an upgrade over Iowa State, other than the clearly better conference. If I were Campbell, I'd be hoping I have another good season so I'm the top candidate for the Michigan job.

If I’m Campbell, Michigan would be at the top of my list. Just don’t think Michigan is finally willing to admit they hired the wrong guy and move on.

I hear you, but just eyeballin' it, coaches coaching at their alma mater doesn't have a good track record.

Like 561 said, He should've stayed at UCF, He had a better recruiting base.

Like Michigan, the State Of Nebraska is barren of talent.
Michigan has way and I mean way more talent then Nebraska. Michigan actually produces multiple top 300 players every year along with lots of D1 prospects/offers. That’s something the Barren State of Nebraska can only dream about.

That would be a good hire, in my opinion.

The dilemma, however, is you are signaling to your fan base that you don’t expect to compete for national titles anymore.

You become respectable by winning 7 or 8 games a year, with the possibility of winning 9 or 10 if the stars align, but that’s not what that fan base wants. Their expectations are high because of their history.
That sounds depressingly and terrifyingly familiar. Smh

Michigan is so deep into the making the Harbaugh story of reviving Michigan football come true that they will not let him go for years. He will have to quit but his ego is so big that it won’t happen. It‘s a bad situation in that neither side will let go of the story.
