ND-Wake Cancelled

Hey
I want to be in the Big 12 for recruiting reasons and Miami would be highly competitive for a conference title. They can add either Houston or BYU to keep things even.
You’re insane if you don’t take a chance at the $EC (it’ll never happen). That would change this program’s perception over night with recruits.

Not a conspiracy on ND. Why is Clemson not filling their open date that was open for weeks? Crickets. Blaming ND when Clemson's open date wasn't filled. Why those MF's get a pass? No conspiracy on Miami. The ACC knows Clemson and ND are going to play for the title. Throw the hate where it belongs with the ACC Commissioner. They set it up so those two teams would have an open date before the title game. No team is dropping a game without the Commissioner's say so. Blame him.

You are a clown. A sad, pathetic clown.

The ACC set up an entire slate of games. There was NEVER a guarantee that every team would play 11 games. The entire tiebreaker system was set up on the premise that not every team would play an equal number of games.

Clemson was under no obligation to "fill their open date". Regardless, the concept of rescheduling is based on BOTH universities having availability and the health to do so.

Obviously, Notre Dame doesn't give a **** about the other 13 schools playing fewer than 11 games. They only care about Clemson playing fewer than 11 games. So they got a "self-cancellation" approved. Which, of course, was always the potential problem with allowing Notre Dame to "rent-a-conference" for a year.

Here's the reality, you moron. The ACC Commissioner did not, out of the kindness of his heart, reach out to Notre Dame to politely ask if Notre Dame wanted to cancel a game. This development came from a direct request made by Notre Dame.

I can blame the ACC Commissioner for approving it, but I can also blame Notre Dame for requesting it.

Please enlighten me and tell me who does? Because the ACC certainly doesn’t.

Brilliant logic. Dump the 60% match ACC to dream about the 20% match SEC, which is never going to approve Miami anyhow.

While we're at it, let's get so ****y about the ACC that we are forced to join the Pac 12.

ND made a request. The commissioner granted it dumb ***. So, you just made my point. It was the commissioner's decision.

Funny how you give Clemson a pass for "not obligated to fill their open week." All over their jock. Again the commissioner could have scheduled a Clemson game just in the same way he juggled switching teams and dates over the past several weeks. That's his job. He didn't so darling Clemson could have an off week before the ACC title game rather than playing FSU.

Lastly, there's no plath thru ND for which we get to the ACC title game. They own all the tie breakers even if they played the canceled game and lost. The only path is for Clemson to lose, to VT, but you're stuck on ND and rooting for Clemson like ND should play a meaninless game risking injury while Clemson has the week off.

When you try to make an arguement, don't let your delusions get in the way.

im not interested in playing clemson again. finish the year 10-1 and get to an NY6. finish it off strong. this year was about winning double digits and turning that into sustained recruiting success.
One of the few honest posts on here, Clemson and ND would both smack us around. If you can't admit that, you haven't watched them and/or us play this year.

You clearly don’t understand what it takes to be great. You don’t run from competition, you embrace it. The more we play Clemson the closer we will be to beating them. ND is overrated, as usual. Miami can definitely beat them.

Guess y'all forgot we were supposed to play Wake this week and now we have Duke.

What a ****** troll you are.

Even attempting to make a comparison of finding a replacement opponent to out right cancelling 2 weeks in advance without a replacement is just dumb as ****.

We haven't cancelled any games. We've kept opponents for every week and just moved back dates.

Another dillusional dip ****. There is no path the ACC title game even if ND played their cancelled game and lost. Get it thru your delusional brain. All of it is the commisioner's decision to have ND and Clemson having an open date before the title game. You too busy sucking Clemson's **** not asking why they didn't have their cancelled game rescheduled several weeks ago.

I hate ND like any Canes fan. I don't need delusional stupidity to do it. I certainly hate Ckemson as well. ****'em both.

What is the conspiracy theory, you idiot?

Notre Dame did not want to play one more game than Clemson had to play.

This isn't rocket science. It's just selfish self-preservation on Notre Dame's part. Not a "delusion" or a "conspiracy theory", just a pvssy move by Notre Dame.
You are delusional. Who's going to play a meaningless game the week before the ACC championship game risking injury while your opponent has the week off? Nobody. If we were in their position, we wouldn't play either.

Interesting that you give Clemson a pass for not rescheduling their game, but ND should play when we have NO PATH to the ACC title game thru ND even if they played and lost. Delusional and dumb.

The SEC absolutely doesn't mesh with Miami.
I believe they were discussing an offer of membership in 1990 when we were looking for a conference. A formal offer may have actually been made. Missouri FFS became a member of the $EC this decade. It all depends on the context of the time. No conference has a membership that entirely meshes anymore.

You are a buffoon.

Nobody gave Clemson "a pass". I accurately and correctly pointed out that NOBODY in the ACC was obligated to play 11 games. Covid cancellations were a known and accepted risk from the beginning of the season.

The concept of "I want to play fewer games, waaaah, waaaaah" is a uniquely Notre Dame concept.

But thanks for incompetently flailing, as usual, Number1DameFan.

More "gaping ******" arguments from Number1DameFan.

"Who's going to play a meaningless game the week before the ACC championship"? The entire season was set up that way. The week before the ACC-CG was always set up as a "snow day" makeup weekend if any games were pushed back.

"Waaaah, waaaaah, I want the ability to unilaterally call off any games that don't impact my eligibility for the conference championship game."

What a pvssy argument.

No "formal offer" was ever made. The SEC called Foote and gave him a 24-hour "take-it-or-leave-it" that they knew we could never accept without any financial due diligence or a meeting of the Board of Trustees. The SEC moved on to South Carolina before the 24 hours were even up.

They probably aren't #2 but we can't beat them, you're lying to yourself if you believe that. I'm not saying anything about running from competition, I'm just saying we would get beat handily by both of those teams

The logic that we need to lose big again to Clemson this year is strong. The last time we played them we only lost by 25, definitely an improvement over previous beatdowns of 35 and 58. Maybe we can cover this time

Miami has enough talent to beat ND. It absolutely can happen, not saying it will but it can happen. Much much crazier things have happened.
