But we’ve already seen that the committee would take them over us, so we would need a ton of chaos to inch our way into the field. If they lose, they stay ranked. AND….it frees up a spot for us. The more important thing is the loss is not that we lose a good win. Notre Dame will not fall more than eight spots. Nobody has fallen more than eight spots in the last couple of weeks so they will still be a top 20 team in the college football playoff in Pittsburgh would move up. You definitely want Pittsburgh to win because you can knock them out yourself

The question is: How valuable is a win over a Notre Dame team that would be ranked inside the top 7 vs the value of the playoff spot that opens if they lose?

They take our spot if they beat Pitt emphatically and we squeak by them unimpressively

If Pitt beats ND then PITT becomes a quality opponent, ND winning/losing is not making or breaking our resume.

If we win out with wins against a:

- Top 25 ND team that went 9-3
- Top 25 USF who becomes the G5 Champ
- Top 25 Pitt team on the road to end the season
- Beat UF (dominated) & also Beat FSU on the road

We are in and I don’t think there’s much debate at all. Anyone wanting ND for our resume is yet to realize that our WIN against ND hardly matters at this point. Same as Bama’s loss to FSU
