the only thing thats giving us credence is that ND win right now especially since lville fell apart now so that close loss looks like ****The question is: How valuable is a win over a Notre Dame team that would be ranked inside the top 7 vs the value of the playoff spot that opens if they lose?
Nah, they will be ready for their Super Bowl against Miami like everyone else.if PITT loses to ND and then GA Tech ….maybe they mail it in when we come to town in 2 weeks.
I have wondered this myself, but I think ultimately it comes down to clearing the road in front of us for a potential at-large berth. The more teams currently ranked in front of us that take an L, the better our position, period. The question is: How valuable is a win over a Notre Dame team that would be ranked inside the top 7 vs the value of the playoff spot that opens if they lose?
The thing is the committee has showed that our W over Notre Dame is basically meaningless at this point, because it was Week 1 and they’ll say “would they win again if they played now.” It’s not supposed to matter “when” you win but I think recency bias is clearly at play. H2H is supposed to matter, but apparently only when they’re talking about SEC or B1G teams.the only thing thats giving us credence is that ND win right now especially since lville fell apart now so that close loss looks like ****

We aren’t jumping ND, so better for us for a guaranteed top 11 spot to open vs hoping a win against a top team helps. The question is: How valuable is a win over a Notre Dame team that would be ranked inside the top 7 vs the value of the playoff spot that opens if they lose?
Im worried about us winning today- and us pressuring Bailey enough to hold up on the back end of the defense. Down OJ and Keionte, we need strong games from Damari, Ethan, and Lucas.
