Who do we want on this? Hatred be damned.

If we lose 1 more then obviously we want PITT.

issue is I dont trust Pitt to win out till us even if they win today.

so currently the ND win is giving us a boost in our resume so we kinda need that. ideally, you have ND win a close tight game w Pitt so Pitt stays formidable.

The question is: How valuable is a win over a Notre Dame team that would be ranked inside the top 7 vs the value of the playoff spot that opens if they lose?
the only thing thats giving us credence is that ND win right now especially since lville fell apart now so that close loss looks like ****

I have wondered this myself, but I think ultimately it comes down to clearing the road in front of us for a potential at-large berth. The more teams currently ranked in front of us that take an L, the better our position, period.

The thing is the committee has showed that our W over Notre Dame is basically meaningless at this point, because it was Week 1 and they’ll say “would they win again if they played now.” It’s not supposed to matter “when” you win but I think recency bias is clearly at play. H2H is supposed to matter, but apparently only when they’re talking about SEC or B1G teams.

This is it. Get Notre Dame out of the way and then beat the team that took down Notre Dame. There is no downside for us in that scenario.

There is absolutely zero reason to want ND to win. A loss for Nd knocks them out of the playoffs. Miami needs as many teams inc torn of them to lose. Thats why it would’ve been huge for Oregon to lose last week but the got lucky.

Pitt 100%%%%
