ND Open Scrimmage Today

Tip your hat last year as ND kept finding ways to win and played their best ball late. But USC threw back to back INt for TD’s, had 100 yards more than ND, they lost to Northern Illinois. Louisville gift wrapped their game and Psu/Allar completely crapped the bed their last drive.

So ND did what they needed and should be very good next year. But by no means are they some sure fire top 5 team. If our OL plays up to what we think and Beck does his thing we will give ourselves a great opportunity to win.

DK has ND -2.5 at the moment. Obviously spring portal will impact rosters but I expect it to grow the closer it gets.

Their Secondary & OL are easily top 3 in the country.

The game will come down to how well we run the ball & how well our Front 7 stops the run.

From what I've read thus far in the Spring, ND's passing game may be better than it was last year. Mainly because Riley Leonard while being a mobile running QB, was also a very limited passer & supposedly Carr & Angeli have much better arm talent, which has allowed Denbrock more versatility in offensive playcalling & install.

How much of that is true? We'll find out in August/September.

But either way, the game will all revolve around the run; winning it on Offense & stopping it on Defense.
An RB1 would be nice if we could afford it and Lyle allowed it..

It will come down to our defense being able to stop the run and control the line of scrimmage. I think our run game and a healthy Beck will be able to score on them

What was the turnaround stats from Deeno to Diaz? Should we expect a similar turnaround? Should it be better?

After seeing reruns of ward’s highlights I am not too sure our offense we better hope to be 80 percent of what we had last year. Our oline has to be way better and we need a monumental increase in defensive production including turnovers and sacks.

Not to be overly literal but 80% of last years offense would be identical to what SMU did last year good for 27th

Pretty crazy when you look at what we did
