It was 13* hotter in Boise today than South Bend. And Boise practices at altitude, which is less dense with oxygen.

Boise OLine was sucking wind in the early 3rd qtr.

Agree it won’t be as hot Sunday at HRS, according to forecasts, and we’re unfortunately, probably looking at late rain.

But heat and humidity is a factor, but it’s just that, a factor, just like home field advantage. It won’t make up for poor play or coaching.

I’d wager if the Boise-USF game was played in Boise today, it would not have been a blowout.

I still can’t understand why people don’t get the fact that the heat doesn’t matter if a team rotates 2-3 deep.
Until this week, it’s been in the 90’s in the Midwest.
Last year ND opened at A&M in 90 degree heat & if you watch, the A&M players were the ones cramping, two threw up on the field, & none of the ND players had problems. Freeman said afterwards it’s because they rotated 3 deep.
This ND team is expected to be even deeper, so they will just rotate players.
Miami will have to rotate also, or they will wear down.
It’s not as much heat as it is fresh players. Anyone with any football knowledge knows this.

I live in the Chicago area and i can tell you for a fact that the Midwest did not have a hot summer this year. But then again, I'm from the south, have lived in Arizona, and been in Kuwait during the summertime, so my tolerance level may be different.

Midwest Heat doesn't have Miami humidity.... that is a fact. Born and raised in Miami and I went to school in the Midwest and played outdoors.

There is nothing and I mean nothing that can prepare you for that humidity that hits you in Miami.

Especially at night.

It also won’t really matter in the first half. If it does impact, it will come in the 2nd half, hopefully on their defense as our offense consistently is doing 10+ play drives ending in TDs

You make a good point. Have lived in both Miami and the Midwest. Midwest humidity is not like Miami and neither is it like Idaho either (Idaho very dry). ND will make sure their guys are kept hydrated. I remember being ****ed off against Michigan State because it was our guys that were cramping up. Not their guys. Miami guys took their acclimation to it for granted.

I went to Miami and have lived in Miami. Was it not YOU that brought up the fact that Miami is located in the Tropics? Tropics mean direct sun, but not necessarily high humidity. The Midwest is not immune to high humidity. To the level of Miami consistently, no. But I guarantee ND will have their guys properly hydrated.

Not many teams can rotate 2-3 deep and maintain the same quality.

I find it funny that all the experts on SFLA heat not mattering, are from the Midwest.
