NCAA Meets with Ruiz to discuss NIL deals

It's crazy how blatant the NCAA is about propping up certain teams. It's incredibly frustrating.

Yes. It’s just the way it is. Yet you STILL, after all these ******* years, after KNOWING the microscope we are and ALWAYS will be under, you still have the god**** mental midgets on here who think it’s “cool” for Ruiz to blast his business to anyone who will listen.

Maybe something comes of this, maybe it doesn’t. But it’s just all so goddamned unnecessary.

Unrelated but related . . . I haven't kept up with the Rashada thread (it's 164 pages!) but I see his name mentioned here. Can someone tell me what the latest is? What I'm reading here is we're out of it? Is that accurate?

We bowed out allegedly, but I’m sure tires could be kicked down the road. UF is foolish to think he’s locked in come this weekend, and that other schools won’t keep tabs on him once they figure out how much he’s getting.

I'm not arguing with your post because I agree with it. I would prefer silence too. That said, deals with players has to be disclosed to the programs (right?) and to the NCAA (?) and to the IRS so it's not like his tweets alone instigated the limelight. It was going to happen regardless. (But I do not like disclosing deals and establishing a market for what a player is worth, which only makes future negotiations more difficult.)

Yup and it's why I'm a huge advocate for not letting everyone know all of your business. Ruiz, and the foolish fans egging him on, should've known what would happen if anyone associated with Miami started to become too boastful.

That's the whole point.

It's about Ruiz's BUSINESS. Exposure for his companies. Name, Image, Likeness - a representative for his companies.

That's what all this is about! Publicity! Done right!

As Ruiz said, when his $800,000 deal was made - it got millions of hits! Exactly what he wanted.

The NCAA is stumbling around - not knowing whether to **** or wind their watches - and I'm certain that they certainly wanted to "learn" somewhat about this NIL, how it works, how it should work, what problems one may see, possible solutions, and what the NCAA can do to facilitate a fair system.

Who better to inquire of - than one of the top NIL organizations, run by one of the nation's top attorneys and businessman?

AND - if Miami is doing it right . . . now - Miami is OFF the suspect list!

I'm with @AtlAtty. I'm not sure this is an investigation as much as an inquiry or an interview, perhaps designed to craft rules.

But I'm not concerned. It seems that there are basically no rules so it's pretty hard to violate anything at this juncture.
Correct. I’m confident UM and Ruiz have not violated any rules. My concern is the desire to create rules that will disproportionately impact certain schools over others.

Sounds to me like Rashada was getting demanding.

Lol @ "something to hide."

There's whores in every walk of life - often influenced by parents.

In the end, they usually ***** themselves. (THAT end - and at the conclusion - end.)
