The NCAA extended their deal with ESPN to carry most of the NCAA Championships including the CWS. It had been widely expected that the NCAA would break out more the lucrative championships for individual sale, but they pulled a Swofford, and did a fairly friendly deal with ESPN during their exclusive negotiating window.

Smart on their part, if true. The regionals and supers are far more exciting than CWS.
