Navaughn Donaldson to Redshirt

Gaynor, Scaife, Donaldson, Walker, Rivers will be our O-line against bama in 2021 (you guys decide who plays where). What about Campbell though?
Me personally I think Campbell is going to end up a total beast. He was a dam baby last year and he shouldn't have been asked to play, same goes for Zion. **** even Clarke shouldn't have played. Thats 3 offensive line men that played a **** ton and really should have never seen the field minus the 4 game red shirt rule. I think our o-line future is pretty dam bright.

He doesn’t need to play at all in my opinion.. He needs the entire year and season to get his body in an uptempo offense shape... He’s had plenty of snaps the previous couple years... Come back in spring ‘21 ready to dominate...

Interesting you say that- I feel the same.
I don’t think we end up having a 2020 CFB season (dear God I hope I am wrong) but that’ll actually benefit us. Manny and company have always been kings of the off season so this will only help us. It also prevents teams like Bama, UGA, Clemson, etc. from performing well on the field to attract recruits. I think some of these south Florida kids will stay home because of COVID as well as, not being able to take official visits to out of state schools. All of this benefits Miami. I want a 2020 season with King though. Who doesn’t...
Thread is about Donaldson redshirt. Covid is a different forum.

Proud of my boy. He just made himself some change with this decision.

Manny needs to get him hooked up with some off the books trainer if you know what I mean.
Yeah, I know that trainer, he's the guy the Nicktator fly's into Tuscaloosa (on Nick's private jet) every off-season with a couple of cases of that fabulous Deer Antler Spray.

Great decision. Rehab and prepare for the high tempo. I really like his athleticism and skill set coming out of HS. Hope he becomes the beat he can be🙌🙌🙌

Best decision he's made in his life so far.

Rehab the knee and get in ******* shape.

Could be a big 2021 if he loses weight.

A Miami Hurricane staying an extra year? I am not familiar with this concept. Usually we see players leave a year early after they get a 7th round/UDFA preliminary draft grade.

Apologies for what could be a dumb question, but isn’t there a risk he does this and then goes grad transfer route? Also, if he were healthy by year’s end, can he still play in up to 4 games and still shirt?

Irrelevant. Him playing this year when he's not ready doesn't help himself or the team. The only way he grad transfers is if he doesn't see PT which would mean our OL plays lights out this year and Donaldson would just be another body to add to it.

There's also a risk Bugs Bunny drops an anvil on his head from the top of a skyscraper. Sometimes, you have to do the right thing and hope things work out. That's what UM and Donaldson are doing here.
Appreciate the reply, even with the elbow shiver to let me know you were there.

He knows that Bama game is a BIG MONEY ticket for him...

if he dominates against that dline... his draft stock will climb on top of showing improved athleticism, injury free(knee), and show he put in the work to get his body right.

seen many a kid like ND get drafted day 1 or 2 based off one games performance on top of a late senior/junior year superstar performance
