National Title Game - who ya got???

I’m seeing Bama’s DL not just shooting gaps, but getting off their blocks.

This is two teams w/ equivalent amount of blue chips & Bama looks to be on another level with their talent. I know OSU is missing some ppl, but I’m seeing Bama players a level above.

What’s worst? They are not going to have a drop off next yr. Smh.
I wish they’d go ahead and just move on to the NFC East already...I know there would be a lot of pay cuts involved because there is a salary cap but they figured out a way to cheat the system in CFB so I’m sure they’d be able to figure out a way to circumvent the cap somehow..😂

That’s exactly why Saban failed in the NFL....he wasn’t able to figure out how to circumvent the rules or exploit every little nuance like Belichick does.

Does Barmore for Bama remind anyone of Jerome Brown the way he looks and plays out there? Just a sophomore.

That was on Fields..no reason to throw that ball 100 miles an hour..there was no one around him.He could have just flipped it to him..

Just a question..In all honesty being truthful to yourself do you really think Miami has a shot against this team next year ?

its great to always think you have a punchers chance but it doesn’t make someone a douche because they are facing the reality of the situation.

No. I don't think Miami has much of a chance. But what's the point of constantly posting that Miami is going to get steamrolled? Its not really a discussion point because everyone already believes it. So then you just want others to agree that we're going to get crushed? Does that make you feel better about it? It's not like the discussions as to whether Diaz is a lost cause or not. That at least is a conversation where people can have differing views.

Let's say you were part of a bad football team in high school, on the bus driving to a game and about to play a team that hasn't lost in three years. Then some jackass fifth stringer is yammering in the back about how badly you all are going to lose. At some point everyone is going to turn around and tell that guy to STFU and probably give that guy a beating. Of course what's he saying is true, but it's really f#cking annoying that someone is thinking about that rather than trying to come up with a plan to help the team pull off a miracle.

I was watching a WW2 documentary a while ago and they had a story how during the campaign to take back the Philippines, the Navy ships guarding the landing forces took off to chase a Japanese fleet. Left the ground troops almost undefended except for 4 or 5 destroyers. From the other side of the island another *** fleet snuck around and the crew of the 4 destroyers knew they had the stand their ground to give the troops more time to offload. One of the destroyer captains got on the horn and said, "we will be engaging the Japanese fleet shortly. The outcome is doubtful but I know you will do your job." they gave the **** all they could even scoring a few hits but ultimately they were all sunk. Then the sharks came and ate a lot of the sailors in the water. And still, years later, not a single guy who survived whined afterwards that they should have cut and run, because they had a job to do. It annoys me when people are already admitting defeat before we've played the game. Yes the outcome is doubtful but you have to be a real douche to bring up that Miami doesn't have a chance at every opportunity.

That would be the Battle off Samar, part of the largest naval battle in history, the Battle of Leyte Gulf. Basically they were Destroyer Escorts who lost their carrier air cover when Bull Halsey took his Third Fleet off to attack a phantom Japanese carrier force. This left about four tin cans to defend the Jeep carriers and the landing beaches at Leyte against Admiral Kurita’s Center Force Of fleet battleships and heavy cruisers, led by the super battleship Yamato.

Center Force basically had its way with the tin cans, but not without serious losses on its own part that disrupted Kurita’s attack. The DE’s attacked with such fury that , combined with the planes from the Jeep Carriers, convinced Admiral Kurita to signal a withdrawal. Kurita became convinced he was facing Halsey’s Third Fleet, so he withdrew.

The Canes are the Tin Cans, of course. They’re not expected to win against Alabama, but they have a better chance now than they had even a week ago. Better coaching will make the difference, of course, but as the Battle off Samar reminds us, there’s always a chance!

Defense will probably be better next year. Offense will be a lot more inexperienced and loses their 2 offensive engines. We'll see what that translates to.

They’re losing a lot of players (Waddle, Smith, Jones, Harris, 4 o-linemen, a lot on defense). They reload though every year but we aren’t playing THIS team game 1

Being a member of a team and mouthing off about getting whacked in front of teammates is a whole lot different than being a fan and facing the reality that your program is nowhere near the program that you will be starting your season off with talent wise.

Do you not think that other fanbases had the same feeling 20-30 years ago when the Canes came rolling into town? Some times you just have to face the fact that you aren’t as good as your opponent.

Do all of us on here ( well I’ll say 99% ) pray to whatever they call a divine being that we can beat Bama next year.Pretty sure the answer to that would be a resounding yes.

‘But because the vast majority of that 99% decide to be realist as opposed to being delusional doesn’t make them a douche.Just makes them honest with themselves.Having said that I’ll do what I’ve done for the last 60+ years , more than most all of you on this site have been alive , and pull for the Canes to win but I’m not going to delude myself into thinking our chances of winning are anything more than minimal at best.

I think fans of any team that openly concede defeat before the game is played are pathetic douches. There is a difference between feeling like the chances are extremely slim that Miami is going to win and saying Miami doesn't stand a chance. You seem intelligent enough to be able to make that distinction.

There’s always a chance however slim that might be...have a pleasent rest of your evening my friend.Let’s hope the rebuilding of our defense continues tomorrow so that slim chance can improve to a marginal chance

As much as I hate seeing Nick “I will not be the coach at Alabama” Saban win another one, at least it was made painfully obvious that Ohio State* had no business being in this game. The system was rigged to get them in all season long. This is the outcome.

True:
They’ll be young at some key spots, but they’ll replacing their stars with some equally talented players (per their 247 rankings). But on paper don’t mean ish.

One of the differences between Alabama and a lot of other schools is they get big leads and are able to play their underclassmen. Those players get experience, so when a starter gets hurt, graduates or leaves early for the NFL they can step right in to the position. When is the last time UM had that going for themselves? Go position by position with UM and see how many of them have an experienced replacement.
