Narduzzi to Michigan State?

We lost to Whisky back to back years

I’m not referring to losing games. I’m referring to losing coaches.

Based on Wisconsin losing coaches to Arkansas and Oregon State, it seems that Wisconsin pays low salaries, and/or Barry Alvarez is a difficult boss to get along with.

Since Pitt lost a coach to Wisconsin, that implies that Pitt pays even lower salaries than Wisconsin does.

Luke Fickell IMO would be the best choice for them.

I wonder if Todd Grantham would be a candidate or is a he DC for life type coach.

Kevin Wilson would be a good pick too, if Mich St ever wants to evolve offensively.
Definitely Fickell but he may want no part of it if there will be any hard NCAA sanctions.

The state of the Coastal is that almost all of the teams would improve if their current coRches leaves.

The only exception to that is Duke with Cutcliffe. The other 6 guys are all horrendous coRches.
Completely disagree.

Mack Brown might be old, but he’s not a corch. The dude won a national title.

Bronco Mendenhall is a solid coach.

Too early to tell with the guy at GT, but I have a feeling he’ll do well there once they wrap up their offensive transition.

Narduzzi is a corch.

Fuente seems like one, too.

?? Brown looks like a solid hire with recruiting and on the field results this year, Bronco cant recruit but he might need to to be good. Ill hold judgment on Fuente for this year. He has a good roster.. Collins can recruit, Ill give him 2 more years to win games considering what he was handed..

Even with the sanctions, Narduzzi would be a fool to not take the MSU job if hired. Ceiling at MSU is a CFP appearance (from what we've seen), but I'm not sure what the ceiling at Pitt even is. Winning the coastal occasionally?
Ceiling at Michigan State was nothing before Dantonio, and a big reason he was able to have some success for a few years was big brother being in a constant state of upheaval.

Now that Hypebaugh is there winning 9 or 10 every year and stabilizing Michigan you’ve seen State revert to what they always were. Dantonio also benefitted with some better recruits while there was turmoil for a couple years at Ohio Taint. Once Urb stabilized that situation and Hypebaugh put State back in place in the Michigan/Ohio recruiting footprint, State came back to earth.

You could argue Pitt has a higher ceiling given that between the two programs Pitt had a much higher ceiling during the modern era. However, at the end of the day, they’re both ham and egger programs now.

Mendenhall is definitely a corch. He basically proves that any coach can win this terrible division.

Mack Brown was a corch in his later days at Texas. I’ve seen little to indicate that he’s stopped being a corch.

The GT guy is a coRch, although I suspect his future years will be more around 6-6 than 3-9.

LOL @ Fickell to MSU. He's better off staying at Cincy, the State Of Michigan is a talent $h!thole...look at the clown $h!t Harbaugh has to do to try to lure recruits. Once the manufacturing jobs dried up so did the talent.

Yea, I definitely agree on the points about Michigan and OSU being down/unstable contributing to their little run. But Dantonio was also doing that while not even recruiting really well. I think that they could see an uptick in recruiting under Fickell -- maybe they steal the conference once every 5-10 years. That's a pretty good ceiling for them. I just don't see Pitt doing much of ****, even their squads that luck up and win the coastal are pretty **** average.

Fickell is an Ohio guy who isn't getting the Michigan, ND or OSU HC jobs. This might be the best of those types of jobs that he'll get.

Pitt to Sparty is pretty much a lateral move
Not at all. MSU has been a way better program than Pitt the past 10 season Michigan State made the college football playoffs like four years ago and they have made the rose bowl a bunch of times

People were already unhappy with Dantonio’s 7-6 seasons to cap his tenure.

Why would Narduzzi be any better? He keeps going 7-6ish, while coaching in a terrible division.

MSU is a better job than Pitt.

Narduzzi however is absolutely not Paul Chryst and MSU doesn't have a machine/system built into their program the way Wisky seemingly does.

That said, I'd be real careful also if I'm Luke Fickell. Unless there are actual sanctions on the horizon then I think MSU is a job you jump at. Sometimes your name doesn't stay hot forever as you wait for the best opportunity and I think East Lansing provides a pretty solid one in that you're replacing a "legend" (there) but one that just tarnished his legacy a bit and has been really mediocre as of late.
