What people complained about was the orange on orange and orange on green combos...and I'll admit, those combos were horrible...but the actual jerseys were solid. What most ppl don't realize is that Adidas is going to have that same orange on green combo. What ppl don't realize is that Adidas is going to come with some real "interesting" designs for us since we're "their Oregon. Ppl complained about the smoke jerseys with the bronze lid...look, I'm all for alternate jerseys, but like u said my guy, Nike did us a solid. If we didn't have the orange on green combo, no one would've complained. Just wait till we rock the orange on green combo w Adidas w/ some palm tree shoes...lol. Dude, people ALWAYS COMPLAINED about the Nike jerseys! From the bra straps, the eyebrows, the bearded clam (ibis in a blender, lol), the ornament helmets, the tramp stamp logo, the horrid half smoke helmet, the jerseys with the half orange half green numbers, the green jerseys with the one orange arm, the lighter orange, etc!!!! People complain!!! Its what we do. Win games and it don't matter wtf we wear. The only thing nike gave us was ...... well, nike. I remember people complaining that we had Nike pimping us to wear their products. Back in the day, in the late late 90's, when we were on the Grassy sight (old timers know what im talking about) some fans were complaining about the 01-04 era uniforms. Saying it was too New school Denver Bronco ish. Some fans hated that look. Why would Nike force us to wear this stuff?! Why do we have pants with half stripes?! ***** you, Nike!!! Why do Nike give us crap?! They don't change Bama, Penn State, FSU or the other historically significant programs unis like that. Why us?! Do y'all remember that? I do! We we're like Nike's Oregon, before, well Oregon. Then we started winning again and just like that, the unis were the best. The next thing I know, im seeing that uniform template in other college uniforms. The high schools went crazy using that template. Now those unis are considered some of the best we ever had... Why? Because we won and won big, in them.
Now, I'm not saying that these Adidas unis are perfect. But if we win in them........ U get the point.
I'm glad we went back to a deeper orange. Go and look at some of our unis from the back in the 80's when we were wearing Russell. The Orange grabbed attention. That's partly why I became a fan. Loved those unis of yesteryear. We signed a deal with Nike and they lightened our orange. There are some things I don't like about the Adidas uniforms at all, but their first attempt is closer to the traditional "Miami" uniforms that made me a fan than anything Nike gave us since the late 90's.

Wasn't a fan of the bronze lids, but alt jerseys are in. Even Bama has an alt uniform (the all black joint). I agree w u that win with whatever we're in, and it's cool...but let's not forget a point u just mentioned, that we were Nike's Oregon before Oregon. We were the first school to rock the pro-combat, a design that every single school and NFL team now rocks. Our designs were fresh and up to date. We can't keep living in what we wore in the 80's...I mean do cats still walk around in bell bottoms and high heel fish shoes? People said that Nike gave us crap last year...that funny, b/c that same crap design is now worn by every professional team. We'll have buyers remorse with Adidas, just like we did with Golden and SLS.

What I don't like about Adidas is that they are trying too hard. We don't need melted plastic on our sleeves. We don't need "Miami" on the front on our jerseys. We don't need air brushed graphics on our shoes. We know who are sponsor is so we don't need Adidas logos all over the place. We don't need our name plates looking like stencil markings. UCLA, UL, Kansas, and Michigan didn't have that crap, so y us?

And to your point about fans complaining about our jerseys with Nike; why is that when I look on TV at our home games or when I was in Miami visiting my frat brothers early Sept. that everyone is still rocking the Nike jerseys? I haven't seen one of the new jerseys on a fan yet; not saying that it hasn't happened, just saying that I haven't seen it.

Great post. I completely agree with the Orange shade with the Adidas uniforms. It stands out more. You are correct, Nike made our Orange lighter which I never understood nor liked. Adidas got that right. I wish we went back to the old decal. The shiny U loses its pop when light reflects off them.

you're comparing miami's old uniforms to out dated clothing? I'd say the crap nike AND adidas has been trotting out TODAY is more similar to outlandish styles like bell bottoms, platform shoes etc. What miami wore in the 80's and 90's like in my avatar is more like a suit and tie its a classic look that just doesnt go out of style even if you make tweaks to it. i'm tired of hearing miami is not a traditional program who cares, miami created it's own tradition wearing those uniforms and should stick to it. why is it that programs like lsu or auburn you can go look on youtube of old game tape from the 80's and they still look identical, miami has just as much tradition as those programs and more titles, hall of famers etc. just keep it simple by trying to stand out nike and adidas ruined a great look.
