NAME YOUR DC FOR NEXT YEAR

He should part ways but he won't that's his guy and we are 6-1.

It should be the guy from Cincy but Baker will be here next year. Diaz had the quick hand on offense but for some reason he lets the defensive coaches do whatever they want...even if it's half the job not being done. That means one **** thing imo.... everything on defense gets approved by him.
Diaz has surrounded himself with yes men on defense. He's basically Al Golden on that side.

Manny Diaz. The why should be obvious.
If he wants to keep his boys around and believes his scheme is the best fit for this team, that's the move he'll make.

If he's above retaining Banda et al, he'll hire someone external.

This isn’t Manny’s defense. The 4th Q was but pretty sure Manny was calling it
I was a little hesitant to believe Manny took over, however the CB blitz from Couch was very Manny-ish. When Manny was DC we saw how he consistently used the corner blitz with Mike Jackson, Bandy and other guys. When Baker took over it stopped. Baker seems more apt to bringing safeties from the secondary. I can't recall many CB blitzes this season actually. Now in a crucial moment last night, when its rumored Manny took over, we saw a CB blitz, a Manny defensive staple.

No thanks on Don Brown. Alabama and Ohio State just scored again.

And in 2011, Venables D at Oklahoma gave up 41 to unranked Texas Tech, 45 to no. 25 Baylor, and 44 to no. 3 OK State. Guess Dabo made a big mistake there. Or you can use your brain and realize when it's time to buy low. Stoops wanted a scapegoat and Oklahoma fans thought Venables high risk high reward defense was terrible. Fortunately Dabo is smarter than most fans.

Brown has consistently been one of the top DCs in CFB. Oh wow, he couldn't stop OSU or Bama. No on else can either. Venables was helpless against LSU. I suppose he should have been dumped after the game.

Browns stock is low right low but he has an exceptional track record. He wants out and Harbaugh needs a scapegoat. Brown is exactly the type of hire that turns Miami into an instant title contender. The dude runs a Miami 4-3, let him have access to Miami athletes. And Diaz doesn't have to lose another wink of sleep helping the DC gameplan for an opponent. He can focus on being a GM-type coach. Or if wants to stay involved he could emulate Saban, who still coaches DBs, and work with the LBs as that would solve the Patke issue as well.

Rumph might be the only one to be sacrificed since he was hired by Richt but he's had multiple opportunities to let him go and hasn't so you might be right.
Yea if anyone had the right to be fired it's been him and he hasn't so it's highly unlikely they get fired. I think he rides them till the end

I would love to get Don Brown, and like you say he would make us instantly better defensively. I just don't think he would come down here because he has spent most of his career in the northeast.

Yea I know he isnt going to fire anyone on that side

Dude, take your medication. You are basing this silly opinion on Diaz not firing both his entire offensive staff and defensive staff after his first year. How about we wait and see what he does this offseason before making a judgment.

I have seen nothing to suggest he is against moving south. This isn't like Bud Foster who was never leaving VT. He's in his mid 60s, he might want the sunshine. Id at least kick the tires.

Who did he fire on defense I forgot?
I just don't get how he could not have fired Rumph it was the most obvious decision and Enos was obvious and he did that

Would love to get Antonio Pierce on staff
That’s a dark horse candidate there. That guy was born to coach and was coaching guys and calling a defense like he was a coach when he played. He basically willed himself into being a good player through practice and film study. He was never an NFL caliber athlete and made up for it by knowing where the play was going, calling the defense, and lining up his teammates to stop it.

I’d bring in Corey Raymond as DC to learn ( and really let Diaz coach the unit)

sovles all the DB issues

ace recruiter and if he can bring ANYTHING as a DC it would be an A++ hire
