Name 3 position upgrades that would get us into the playoff

We have enough talent to get to the playoffs this year fellas sit back and enjoy the show :tedbong:

Do you really think so? Look, I know there is some really good talent on this team but that CB unit looks pedestrian at best and the OL lacks depth. **** even the starters on the OL have not proven themselves. At LB I love the talent but Jermaine Grace is the only proven guy. All three frosh will be studs but they are still frosh. Owens has talent but is coming off an injury. Young can play but he has not proven it yet. Safety seems solid but Carter has yet to prove himself.

At WR, we have Coley, Berrios and Cager plus the 3 fantastic freshmen. RB lacks a true marquee back but there is good depth. Can this OL open up holes for them? We have talent but to say we have enough to get into the playoffs is stretching it IMO.

LT-Upgrading there would allow Darling to move to RT where I think he belongs and would upgrade the unit as a whole.

CB-You guys know how weak our depth is there. Especially in today's game where you need three starting-caliber corners.

DE-Defense wins championships and you gotta be able to get to the other team's QB today's game.

I started to put WR there because Coley can't be relied on for a full season. But I think Cager can be good for us and I think one of our three true freshmen WRs step up for us this season. Still, we don't have enough play makers IMO.

OL (specifically Ts), CB, and LB in that order. I think we will be ok at LB but since the title said 3 I put them on here. OL and CB are our shortcomings depth wise.

Not a single position, but position group...

IF Miami, with current talent, could field a top 5 OL unit, I think they are absolutely in the conversation for a CFP slot.

Wish in one hand though...

Top 10 team perhaps but no CFP slot with our current secondary. Hopefully Diaz models the defense after the Panthers whom have a beastly DL, one of Kool's former players happen to start, and great coverage LBs to make up for an average secondary--sans Josh Norman.

To even be a top 10 we need to be extremely fortunate with injuries. Corner depth is terrible but imagine if Corn misses much time. Kaaya goes down we're in loads of trouble. In some positions there's just not quality depth such as corner. Others like linebacker and wide receiver have some depth but to rely on multiple true freshmen for extended periods of time will only get you so far.

OT- The line needs to be much better overall but it looks like they're lacking a true left tackle, while the interior positions seem solid.

CB- No depth at all. Even if Elder and Redwine play great, there's a whole lot of nothing backing them up.

RB- I want to say DT but I think the roster has a few legit players there, they were just being wasted in the old scheme. The RBs on the roster are solid but nobody really jumps out as a playmaker. Yearby seems to be the best at finding the holes and maximizing each carry. Walton was running into the backs of his linemen a bit too much last year. Maybe with better line play and better play calling, we'll see these guys reach their potential.

OL and CB will be the 2 areas that hold us back.

If Corn were our #2 CB and we had some depth we would be legit. As of now it's Corn and Redwine (who's unproven), a freshman in Young, and some other guys who look to be JAGS. That's why I have been so adamant about giving JC Jackson a look. Kid has the skill set to immediately remedy some of the issues at CB.

The OL is in desperate need of a T to step up. It would be awesome to have St. Louis develop into a LT so we can move Darling to the right side. I think the OL will be better than last year because we will get away from the zone blocking scheme that made no sense with the size of our OL. With that said they need to be far better than last year in protecting the passer and opening lanes against teams with a pulse.

1. Coaching- we already go that upgrade
2. RB- We were in the bottom 10 in the nation in YPC last season.
3. Defensive line

2. RB- We were in the bottom 10 in the nation in YPC last season.

May want to check your facts on that one. Miami averaged 3.66 yards per rush in 2015. Hardly world beating but nowhere near the bottom ten. Mark Walton's poor ypc combined with Kaaya's negative rushing totals hurt the overall numbers but Yearby was still getting 5 yards a clip on average.
