At the last game the crowd took to clapping loudly along with Perry when he was behind center on the snap count ..... it was amusing and got more crowd involvement as the game progressed .... any opinions on what effect, if any, this has on him, team, opposition etc... didnt appear to but ..... curious

In Perry's post game presser, he was asked if he heard it and responded he had and thought it was pretty cool.

"If your happy, and you know it, clap your hands!
If your happy, and you know it,......"

Thats just my opinion on it, TIFWIW!

Most teams realized how dumb it was 5+ years ago so makes sense that we are just now hitting our stride with it

Despise it to begin with. Wanted to rip off my own head hearing the entire West End Zone (probably the stadium) clap along. Felt the robotic nature of our entire offense had infiltrated the crowd. The worst part was the timing was almost exactly the same each time. Clap, pause, Clap, pause, snap. 2018 Miami HurricaneZombies.

I thought it was the reverberation of the empty stadium but good to know us fans that don't know shIIt about football can figure out a snap count.

Lmao Pitt game was loudest this season.

Definitely. Exponentially above the prior games.

I enjoyed it and thought it was a howl. Amazing how well the crowd did, from a unison standpoint, especially early in the game.

Later Perry changed from two claps to one and the crowd was suckered into that second clap a few times.

Every time I see that clap I think of Cardale Jones. He started it for Ohio State during that championship run late in the season several years ago.

You could hear it on TV. It's stupid. Goes to show the people still showing up at games are the sheep that aren't paying attention and don't know jack about football. It can't be helpful to the offense to have the clap echoing off the roof and reverberating through the building while we are trying to figure out how to play offense.

On the contrary, just about everybody does it now. more discernible than any previous version of non verbal communication

Thanks, Mark

It’s certainly critical to have non-verbal communication when we are at home. Plus our OL is so good it doesn’t really matter that even the crowd knows the snap count

Or maybe the crowd was just having fun with it.
