2027 Myson Johnson-Cook 2027 RB

I don’t think that’s what most peeps are insinuating. It’s more so the hyperbole of how this class, this year, is def finishing #1 yet we continue to fail in certain aspects that would deliver a #1 class, which is MULTIPLE 5 stars. It’s a similar song and dance every spring.

Just waiting on the now annual Foreclosure post.
Bruh, that sounds like a you problem if you've convinced yourself that we're definitely finishing #1. Not saying you have in particular, but the hit dogs should be howling their asses off.

I don't think any fan of any team should, especially during the highest parity leveled era in history. The highest bidder can still lose a kid to his true #1 if the bread is close. Even in the bagman days, if you were a fan of certain schools, a reasonable one would feel confident of their chances but never certain, as they'd know there are a handful of other schools laying in the weeds.

I'm through the roof with what we have now. A healthy blend of highly ranked classes, evaluation and development. Eventually, that will result in some classes that will legitimately challenge for #1. This class, regardless of what comes out of MJC's mouth(⏸️) today, might still be one of them.

****, man, y'all got me long-winded this morning. Just chill, family....

Lmao 🤣

Nah, I’m not saying I expected it, just calling on the hyperbole that happens across this site and our tweeting overlords that stand 5’5

It has never changed in my 20 years of Miami recruiting. Fans get their feelings hurt and say dumb stuff, post after post because they are upset. This has always been recruiting, can you handled it or not? Their is a lot more then maybe 10 schools with a bag these days. For those that keep posting NIL is equal and money doesn't get kids, couldn't be more wrong as it always has been. Today you recruit to get in a final 4 or so and then 8 out of 10 go to the highest bid. Fact! Offers are not all equal at all. The top classes the past few years have been bought. The top 3 classes this year are being bought. I mean everyone's buying. I said, months ago, no chance Miami has the #1 class. They had #1 interest, but closing is 100% money today. No point in making things up and saying ignorant things because your feelings are hurt. Anger/hurt! Mario is the best recruiter, bar none in my opinion. Miami has a bigger budget this class and still won't be top 3. That is fine by me,mI know recruiting. We will have a great class and people will be ****ed and complaining. Forever on repeat!
Exactly brother. Some people here could never handle recruiting or coaching at a high level. You will miss more than you hit. Get the best players you can, then formulate a plan to win with them and repeat the process. I mean he hasn't even made his commitment yet and they are already crapping on this kid and the Miami staff.

A miss is a miss. Obviously you pour more effort and resources into certain kids versus others. We put a lot into this kid. If he signs with Auburn (key word: signs), it’s a miss. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with saying as such. What is wrong is saying it’s some catastrophic thing that’s simply unacceptable with it being Auburn like they’re New Mexico State and exposes underlying warts within the program. Our coach is going to build a roster to allow us to compete nationally. I’m not saying bury your head in the sand and don’t pay attention to this kid, or others as we go down the line. But isn’t some colossal crack in a foundation, imo. We’re going to sign a lot of good football players and Mario Cristobal is going to put out a very strong product.

It’s one kid at a replaceable position and one we don’t desperately need. If Auburn is paying this kid a ton of money and showing him a ****** depth chart, so be it. Enjoy your time on the plains. Miami will be just fine.

I agree it's not necessarily some catastrophic thing. I said as much in my earlier post.

But not all misses are equal. This (assuming he doesn't end up signing here) is a big miss, just like missing on Matthews (if he doesn't sign here) is a big (arguably bigger) miss.

Gaby gonna make a few calls…

Holding Mel Gibson GIF
he said an hour ago after calls, auburn

Dennis Smith looks like a tard if he chooses Auburn. No sugar coating it. Huge miss if we fail to close. I do not think Keys is anywhere close to an equivalent prospect. I like Kimble ok. But man, what a failure if we get clowned again.

Lets be honest, if we cant sign top 5 classes off of this past season, with Mali high profile true freshmen campaign, retaining both coordinators with extensions, Mario having 10 year job security - its never going to happen here.

My real concern - is considering all of the above, do the SOFLA big stars stay home? We were always told by the handlers/insiders/street agents we had to win to get the Jeremiah’s and Jeudys to stay home. watching this class real close… 👀

Dylan Stewart went to USCe. Would’ve started anywhere day one.
Everybody else got outbid too. Bama USC notre dame Tamu etc etc.

The sky didn’t fall and our dline was fine.

We didn’t beat Bama for Riley and our running game was fine.

Also, it’s a running back. It is what it is.
I’ll go out on a limb right now and say that give me Mathew’s every day over MJC.

However, Mathews ain’t worth 3 million a year. Unless, you know for a fact you’re getting Orlando pace or McKinney for 3 years.

Maybe Mario and Mirabal see Mathew’s as a day one guaranteed top 3 pick in 3 years and think he’s worth it.

But I just don’t see it.
