2027 Myson Johnson-Cook 2027 RB

Choosing Auburn is just nuts

Whatever the package is their offering enjoy 5-6 no playoff and mediocrity

Look at Miami’s OL, state of the program, type of offense and realize what you can do here with a program that has the ability to pay not just RBs

If he doesn’t choose Miami then more funds for us to secure Matthews and others

We won’t be even be in the top ten. Mark my words. We just got stuffed in a locker by the leprechaun we went belt to a$$ on at USF. What makes anyone think we’ll beat a real staff out like A&M for guys like Matthews?
Lmfao yooo Back off the ledge fam we gon be alright Truzzz let this recruiting **** play out its a LOONG way till the ink dries

We thought the same last year after cooper, keys, a couple DTs, DE’s, S, LB’s. We got Stancil and Wiley though

People ****ting theirselves unnecessarily in this post. Big loss if true? Yes. But if he wanted money that needed to go to Matthews or Lennear, the money needs to go to the latter 2.

We can find RB’s in the portal if some guys leave next year.

Agree. He must just want the 💰

Golesh never had a rb that cracked 800 yards at usf. If they lose out on him just go get ty keys. He has miami leading and he won’t cost anywhere near this kid

These are genuinely bizarre individuals. If I hadnt spent my entire adult life interacting with hundreds of them, I’d be convinced these are bots.

Yes guys, this kid might commit to Auburn in April. So the direct result of that is having 1 back on the roster for 2027 and having to move Lofton to RB and play 30% of our snaps with Mali in wildcat. ******, but it is what it is.

Grab your sack. Or at least where it used to be. Jesus Christ.
We’ve survived the game threads. We can make it through this 😂

I don’t think any single RB is a massive miss. You can find quality RBs every year. What most people are upset about is Dennis Smith running his trap before the deal is done. “Upset” is probably the wrong word, but Smitty’s premature post on X raised expectations, so some folks are disappointed and expressing that disappointment in different ways.

Recruiting is fluid. There are few “must haves” that leave me disappointed. Mark Matthews is one. Nick Lennear is another. MJC is not a must have for me (neither was Derrick Cooper last year).

In my mind, I’d hope this helps with Matthews. He’s the bigger fish. Love me a good running back, and this guy has some great measurables, but there are plenty.

Allocate more resources to get the lineman. We know how much that matters.
There ain’t no 220 plus pound rbs every cycle that run like this. These are usually the first off the board during the draft. These are the playoff running backs

Really would hate to lose this kid, but we cannot break the bank for a RB. It’s just not smart capital management.

You overpay for QB, OT, DT and CB. Not RB.

If Auburn wants to throw in the Brinks truck for this kid, sucks but oh well. Let’s see how their class shakes out in the end versus ours - both in the rankings and in production.

Stop it. You know **** well all "offers" are not the sasame. Not all offers are clear takes. Not all offers have multiple visits. Not all offers have coaches fly out to see them before their commitment date. Not all offers are the No. 1 player on the board at their position.

This is exactly the sort of recruitment Mario and the staff get paid to win. Nobody should expect them to win them all, but the equivocation about missing on "dozens and dozens" of kids is either disingenuous or raw copium. A staff that miss on dozens and dozens of top of the board recruits won't be a staff for long.

A miss is a miss. Obviously you pour more effort and resources into certain kids versus others. We put a lot into this kid. If he signs with Auburn (key word: signs), it’s a miss. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with saying as such. What is wrong is saying it’s some catastrophic thing that’s simply unacceptable with it being Auburn like they’re New Mexico State and exposes underlying warts within the program. Our coach is going to build a roster to allow us to compete nationally. I’m not saying bury your head in the sand and don’t pay attention to this kid, or others as we go down the line. But isn’t some colossal crack in a foundation, imo. We’re going to sign a lot of good football players and Mario Cristobal is going to put out a very strong product.

It’s one kid at a replaceable position and one we don’t desperately need. If Auburn is paying this kid a ton of money and showing him a ****** depth chart, so be it. Enjoy your time on the plains. Miami will be just fine.

I can't believe some of the posts here. Yes, I agree it's a loss BUT now we free some extra money for Matthews if we need to and go after Keys real strong who would be an excellent pick up. Also. he wants to be a Cane so I strongly believe if we lose Cook it's not a massive loss. Money and a crowded backfield along with playing in the SEC were strong arguments against UM. My advice to Mario would be put a muzzle on Dennis Smith with his stupid bat signals. There is NO reason to lose Matthews and I love what Keys brings to the table.

Who cares about number 1 class, you don’t get a special prize for it
Yea I agree but we need a big rb that can move. If we got him and Matthews I wouldn’t care if we were the number one class or not. I just want the dogs not a ranking and these are the dogs
