2027 Myson Johnson-Cook 2027 RB

Choosing Auburn would be dumb. He is a top priority, we will match money and terms. But the last second cash grab does make me less excited for him.
Why do you consider it to be a dumb move? I'm just curious because I see several fans state that when a player may choose another university over us. He's looking out for himself and of course the money. Maybe because he comes from a smaller home town environment he would like that over Miami. Possibly he looks at our running back room and with the addition of Mallory we could be considered 5 deep versus the possibiity of starting for Auburn. I hope he picks UM and I think he will but the kid is looking for the best options available and you would do the same unless you're a dummy lol. ONLY JOKING

Each guy is being represented by agents who are experts at trying to squeeze the most for their clients. And TBH, if I was a top recruit and this is the landscape for recruiting, I’d be doing the same thing. But if Miami is close to the same terms as their competitors, I’m picking Miami. As a running back for a team that has Mario as the HC, I know I’ll always be running behind an elite line, and I will get fed the ball. Also, I know that my talent would be seen on the national stage in the CFP consistently.

No brainer. Canes

Simple choice Canes ,

Going to get paid, plenty early action, have some nice breakaway runs , NFL OL , 5 star travel, plenty publicity, plenty Prime Time games and a totally NFL run team ,ACC Champs and OH I forgot National .Championship(s) real possibility plus some intriguing incentives incidentals to throw on top SOBE .

Auburn : NONE OF THE ABOVE

What’s the obvious choice?

Also, I’m not buying into the “crowded backfield” story for Miami. We don’t know what our backfield will look like next year. We all had Fletcher turning pro because of his CFP, “strike while the iron is hot”, and RB longevity; and we pegged Lyle to portal, and then we almost lost Pringle.

For next season, Fletcher obviously leaves, but Brown, Lyle, and Pringle could all leave and be a featured back on BUNCH of P-4 teams.

Recruit the player. Go for him. If he chooses someone else, we trust our staff to identify another good one.

This doesnt account for injuries which happen all the time at RB.

There must be something in the water during those auburn visits. They seem to get plenty of blue chips to visit multiple times but don’t seem to land that many.
Maybe it’s extra wet 😜

Auburn always seems like they are on the cusp of being a juggernaut on the trail but always stagger for some reason.

It’s ironic because Auburn in this one feels like Miami did for the last 15 years

Going up against a winning team that recruits at a high level while just hoping to get lucky. It could happen same way every now and then Miami would win one against a big time program, but odds are not in Auburns favor here

They won’t outbid us on this one

Walt…isn’t Auburns HC the former USF HC?? This kid is going to hand the keys to his future to an amateur?? That was absolutely be shocking and a bad decision. Does his offense even showcase the RB?

well to be fair, we didn't see much of their offense the two years they played against us. And that's sad because our '24 defense was atrocious.

Yea they been stuck where we were. Where the major players get the bulk pause, and we had to get a few here and there that they were willing to let walk. Sometimes I think we got the rest either they were fans growing up or character traits those other schools did not like etc.

They are stuck in that loop that never gets you anywhere.

Yea we got this one here imo. Not even worried

He also took the USF WB who is physically imposing but that’s it. Dude is super inaccurate and can’t make reads imo. Great athlete though but that’s it imo. Probably better than what Auburn has had recently
