My " WE Want Mike Leach" Banner

Leach is what he is and what he's always been--an average HC who usually hangs a lot of points on terrible low level teams (doesn't seem like he can even do that anymore) and loses to anyone with a pulse and makes awful in game decisions.

Guys like him because of his renegade persona. Would have been a horrible hire here.

There you go again with your delusional thoughts, Craig.

Deflection by insult doesn't cause everyone else in this thread to see how badly you were abused. Since 2000, which is 15 football seasons, you've pointed out like four big wins. Myself and some others dismantled his career by explaining to you what was really going on in the other 90 wins. But you don't want to hear it.

Bob Stools would disagree with you, but you probably think he's overrated too. Pills.

Quit drawing attention to yourself. You hung your name on a guy whose own fans want him gone.

Leach may not be the answer but he 100x better than Al Golden.

Given his record, I'd say he's the same thing as Golden: a fraud who shouldn't be coaching here.
Leach at least got his team to the Big 12 title game and beat 35% of ranked teams he faced while at Texas Tech. Golden hasn't accomplished jack ****. I'm not saying Leach should be our next coach but he is a better coach than Golden.

Which year was that?

My bad. TT finished tied for first in the Big 12 South in 2008 but the tiebreaker went to Oklahoma. Regardless, there is no chance that Al Golden could have taken Texas Tech to a Big 12 championship game. He can't even win the ACC Coastal with south Florida talent.

The "tie-breaker" was a 65-21 loss to Oklahoma, so there wasn't really a tie.

I'm not sure how Al got brought into this. He sucks. No one disagrees with that. But you people look silly when you latch onto a loser like Mike Leach to make your point.

It was a 3-way tie because Texas Tech beat Texas (who was ranked #1 at the time) and Oklahoma lost to Texas that year. I'm not arguing to hire Leach. I'm simply making the point that he is a better coach than Al Golden.

Right, but the 65-21 nailbiter is what dropped them in the BCS standings.

But you're not doing a very good job of making that point. Dude finally had elite, NFL caliber players in his 9th year. Did nothing before or after.

He's a better coach than Golden? So was Randy Shannon. Everyone's better than Golden.

Leach is in the same boat as Golden, just crazier and a more exciting offense. The guy can build a team but 10 wins is about the ceiling for Leach and he wont do that consistently. Good coach tho, glad hes at WSU
