Great job, El. Very helpful.

You've got Gus as our 4th option at RB. Wouldn't shock me if he moves to number 1 or 2. Similarly, I think Milo gets a shot at RT to compete with Sunny. We need help at OT.

lol Gus is high running garbage. He shouldnt see the field with Walton, Yearby, and Homer on the team.

Facts.. Dude has shown no ability that warrants a start over any back you name. People just like him cuz he's big and fast and has the POTENTIAL to be great. But you're spot on.

They negged you but they know its true. Gus gotta show something first.

Everything you said is true...but I know what Yearby is, I know what Walton is..... They are 3rd down backs... They dont have the explosion Miami RB's should have... People still remember GUS from his freshman year his sophmore year he played really good everytime he got in the game.... He was a big dude from NY who didnt learn how to lower his shoulder...I believe he has gotten coached up and I saw a termendous improvement from freshman year toward his sophmore year..a total change...my one question Mark I have is I think he is injry prone...On second hand I hope Gray learned how to hold the ball this year

Can anyone offer an informed opinion on Mayse and Henley? Serviceable?
i have never seen Mayes play but let me tell you this

His junior year he ran 5.00 40 yard dash...Yep I said it oh you want proof?

The CB depth is an unmitigated disaster.

not really. we didn't get to see mayes, jackson, henley much. but we have some good safeties in johnson, carter who could play some cb in a pinch. malek young is gonna see feild in nickle i bet. cedrick wright could end up at cb also.

before we start saying cb is a disaster have to see how spring goes. see what cb depth looks like. this is all speculation at this point.

first off norton, willis will probably start at dt with jenkins and moten as next 2 up. willis has ability to become a dominant dt no way he is backup and norton may be best dt on roster at this point. even better then willis.

oh milo is a tackle. his agility is off the charts. no way he ends up at gaurd. milo will be in top 4 tackles on roster. with st louis , darling and maybe mcdermott. i still see kc as a tackle not gaurd. not that he won't end up at gaurd but with solid coaching this year oline should be head and shoulders better.

mcdermott being year and half removed from acl surgery will help him also. he was better tackle freshman year then darling was.

Look, Gus is a cane. I got faith in him. I dont want the kid to suck or not live up to his potential.

I dont even think hed be injury prone if he toughened the heck up, mentally.

If Gus can gain a pair of cantaloupes then he will and should start. but i seen more grit from Walton and yearby running through the A gap than i've ever seen from gus.

Good write up. Top to bottom, no question we are the most talented team in the Coastal - just need to be coached up. DB is paper thin - hopefully that gets covered up with Diaz / Coach Kool getting the line to put more pressure on the QB. Maybe there's a JUCO DB or a hidden gem at CB that hasn't landed yet. I remember Corn came in a week after NSD and at the time, nobody had heard of him.

UNC came one bad call away from beating Clemson in the ACCCG, and they blew us out...and yet we are the most talented team in the coastal?

Our OL depth is dismal, linebacker is young and thin, defensive backs might be the worst depth in the coastal

We have some talent to be sure, but way too many roster gaps and holes and question marks to be confident going in to the season

If Richt wins 9 or 10 with this patchwork roster, crown him. Would be a **** of a coaching job

All good points.
OL especially worries me...again.
We blew out UNC in '14. They will not dominate our D-line as they did in November. Things change. Also one of their cross-over games is FSU. The problem we'll have is that we play them the week after the 'Noles.
We'll get 9 wins. The tenth is the tricky one.

If Gus is 100 percent, I can see him starting and being a broke man's Chubb with Yearby and Walton as Sony&Marshall in Richt's offense. Willis will start, beast. Finley, JJackson and Young will not redshirt. Shaq will start over JYoung, watch. All three incoming receivers will contribute. Langham and Lewis won't contribute much. Choc will be playing a different position . .

A broke mans Chubb? **** that man must be dirt ******* poor, in the hole millions of dollars, and ready to commit suicide. That is an insult to Chubbs game seeing as Gus runs like a *****.

I don't really get the disdain for Edwards or the love for Walton. I give Walton the benefit of the doubt because he was too young and physically not ready last year, but he was pretty bad as a runner. Edwards was far ahead of him last I saw. Yearby/Edwards look to be a clear 1A/1B to me pending health. Gray ahead of Edwards is kind of laughable. Gray is an internet myth at this point. If you only watched the games you wouldn't even know who he is.

I would think that Trent Harris is better served at OLB, and I think a young guy emerges there as well. Depending on Owens, I could see the backup OLB's being Harris and one of the freshmen. Harris is underrated and has been a serviceable player here. He would be lost in the shuffle at DE but is probably athletic and experienced enough to play OLB.

Jenkins looks to be a clear starter at safety to me. Johnson has barely played, and I've never seen Carter do much that was noteworthy.

Based on the depth chart alone, this looks to be a defense that will be very aggressive in the front and conservative in the back. I don't see a way around that.

Because for 2 strait years we watched Miami "sub in the big back" only for him to run like a soft little girl. No point in playing him if even Walton will run harder.

Walton will gain a little more weight, and have more experience next year.. With rotating yearby/Gus in from time to time RB will be good IF the Oline gets mean
What's the deal with Choc? If he isn't going to see the field at RB maybe time for a position change..?

I very much disagree about Harris at OLB. Especially now that we're in a 4-3. He looked a step slow at the end of last year playing ILB. They may have been the style of defense we were playing, but I think he'd get exposed having to run sideline to sideline in our new defense.

Pretty sure Testaverde, Batten, and Semerene are not on scholarship. Also, McIntosh is a DT, dudes 300.

I expect Edwards to be the starting RB. Yearly change of pace. Homer is the most talented, but have to see what type of work load he's physically ready for. Think Walton is going to be reduced to receiver out of the backfield. No idea on Gray

Hopefully Gall is not our 3rd guard

J. Jackson will be much higher on the DE list. Looks like the best player in the class to me.

Think the freshman LBs will be ahead of King and McCray

Seems like I heard better things about Mike Jackson than Henley

Jenkins above Johnson and Finley above Knowles

I agree and the jump sonny made from spring to summer was tremendous. Hopefully he makes another jump this year. He has great feet but think he makes mental errors. Jenkins is a ball hawk.

I'm not sold that the former or current coaching staff is as high on Gray as this board seems to be. I think he has talent, but he is behind the 3 others, and to be honest Homer may be better.

I think it will be like this with Gray possible jumping yearby.

HB - Edwards, Walton, Yearby ,Gray, Homer

UM has 80 on 'ships counting the 2016 class. They have 11 sr's graduating and I'll lay odds right now that AQM bolts...that's 12 plus 5 giving UM 17 at the very least. And as every year, you have guys that leave for one reason or another. I'll place three in this category.

Safe play will be signing 20....
5 OL
3 DT
2 DE
1 QB
1 RB
2 WR
1 TE
3 DB
1 LB
1 S

We only lose 9 seniors after 2016 is that true? So 2017 class will be small?

It'll be a big class

Mathematically how can it be a big class?

83 current schollys minus 9 seniors = 11 available signees for 2017. Factor in a few juniors like Kaaya leaving thats still only 15 schollies max

Because players will transfer, draft, shown the door, get suspended, **** happens

Richt likes to incorporate the FB in his offense IMO Gus would be perfect fit at FB (we know he can run, he's big enough to block, and athletic enough to catch. Also Don't sleep on Redwine or Johnson

Where do you get that right likes a FB in his offense?

All the reports in the Spring and Fall last year said Edwards was not behind Yearby but basically even when pertaining to being the feature back.
Once he went down you could tell Yearby was depressed. He called him his big brother and had other positive sentiments about him as a leader.
In 2014 we saw some glimpses of how good he could be. The game in Blacksburg being the main reason for optimism.

I personally believe if Edwards has fully recovered from his Injury he will be in the mix to start. Maybe there will be plays where he lines up as fullback but I doubt that will be his primary position.
