My thoughts on the freshman class (long)

Berrios did not show the world class (football) quickness that he supposedly had. With most guys, the 2nd year will tell the story.

He did tear his ACL his senior year of high school.

Hester leaving confirms to me that Al just doesn't like kids that are nasty.

Hester's situation was pretty common. Out of state kid is outplayed initially by a local kid, gets "homesick" and bolts. I thought he showed flashes of being a good player if he would've stuck with it.

Unfortunately, now Jamal Carter is the only safety for the 2013-2014 classes. We need a ton of help there.

Chad's lack of productivity is directly related to playing a completely foreign position. He's a 4-3 one gap outside shade DE. He's not an OLB, a Rush LB, or a 3-4 DE. You can't put a kid like that as a freshman in a totally foreign position and expect him to have any success.

I still love that class is south Florida heavy...come on man continue this trend!!!

Be interesting to see how they all play after another year of coaching up by Al & Co. Noticed Baxton finally started dropping ball toward the end of season--earlier he had glue fingers. Your notice of Kaaya over the middle was spot on. That ended up our best weapon for the first time in ages. Hester leaving confirms to me that Al just doesn't like kids that are nasty.

Dude drops one ball, not an easy one at that, and now people act like the dude was dropping balls left and right...

Got some silly fools on here

Yeap, I still remember Dorsett's drops in ND game and Coley had more than his share of drops as a freshmen. Berrios will be fine.

Rereading this post was almost like reading a post season evaluation of these guys. D$ was dead on with most of these guys. Wow.

Same thing happened to DJ Williams, Leon Williams, and Arthur Brown in their first year but all stuck around.
