Richt drew retirement pay for 3 years
I honestly feel midway through the season he decided to retire. Once he found out he had to fire his son at the end of the year and hire an OC he called a quits.
It was evident in his recruiting when multiple elite level kids stated he barely recruited them.
It was evident in his coaching by sticking with Rosier and not
It was evident with the lack of disciple in the locker room which was evident during the bowl preparation.
If he knew he was going to retire at years end, the move SHOULD have been made to announce his retirement and name Manny the future HC in November. The team probably would have played with more fire and the recruits would have had an idea what in story for the future before signing day.
He retired after he decided to Onside kick the ball vs UVA with 3:10 & all 3 TO's left.
That was the death blow of the season... I'm still shell shocked by that.
Rick definitely quit before he officially announced it. Proof was hiring Tom Cruz and Brian Brown as co-DC. He didn’t want to mess up some DCs life by hiring him then quitting and risking the new HC not keeping the new DC.
I also get the feeling there was a ton of friction between Rickety and Diaz, so Rickety thought he was sticking it to Diaz by holding onto Diaz’s two sons (Cruz and Brown). He also thought he got over on Diaz by officially quitting after Diaz took the Temple job thinking Diaz was stuck with Temple.
Diaz has gone out of his way to stick and twist on Rickety since he took the job. And his latest “new Miami” is his biggest hatchet job on Gramps.
Yes. Notice the Mexicanization of Cruise too.lol, is that a '****tail' reference with Tom Cruise?

You gonna hold him up to an impossible standard and set him up for failure. As Coker said, get your expectations in kilter.see, right there, the nuance, the little things, the creativity, I hope Enos is as good an OC as you are a poster.

It was the most bizarre thing I've seen from a Miami HC in a long long time.To this day, I honestly believe he thought the clock read 1:10. That was shocking to say the least.

I still to this very day get pains in my chest when I think about it, no even joking either smh.

It's done and over. Let's move on to the hope of a better future for this program.
