My thoughts on Richt

Rick definitely quit before he officially announced it. Proof was hiring Tom Cruz and Brian Brown as co-DC. He didn’t want to mess up some DCs life by hiring him then quitting and risking the new HC not keeping the new DC.

I also get the feeling there was a ton of friction between Rickety and Diaz, so Rickety thought he was sticking it to Diaz by holding onto Diaz’s two sons (Cruz and Brown). He also thought he got over on Diaz by officially quitting after Diaz took the Temple job thinking Diaz was stuck with Temple.

Diaz has gone out of his way to stick and twist on Rickety since he took the job. And his latest “new Miami” is his biggest hatchet job on Gramps.

I honestly feel midway through the season he decided to retire. Once he found out he had to fire his son at the end of the year and hire an OC he called a quits.

It was evident in his recruiting when multiple elite level kids stated he barely recruited them.

It was evident in his coaching by sticking with Rosier and not

It was evident with the lack of disciple in the locker room which was evident during the bowl preparation.

If he knew he was going to retire at years end, the move SHOULD have been made to announce his retirement and name Manny the future HC in November. The team probably would have played with more fire and the recruits would have had an idea what in story for the future before signing day.

It was evident to me when he self imposed 6 bowl game practices instead of 12.

He retired after he decided to Onside kick the ball vs UVA with 3:10 & all 3 TO's left.

That was the death blow of the season... I'm still shell shocked by that.

To this day, I honestly believe he thought the clock read 1:10. That was shocking to say the least.

It was the most bizarre thing I've seen from a Miami HC in a long long time.

It completely fcked me up I'm tellin you man it was the loudest WTF I ever screamed in my life! Everybody in my house was just quiet looking at me, I was standing there looking at the TV completely froze lol.

I still to this very day get pains in my chest when I think about it, no even joking either smh.

Amazing is you still had a ton of people defending him at this point, and saying he was still a very good coach

Agreed. Diaz with the amped up, high intensity New Miami vibe is a soft shot at Richt and his passionless, slothful approach. And no matter what he says, the fact that he gutted the entire O staff like a fish is a statement that he thought Richt didn’t make them carry their weight.

Diaz is a tell it like it is guy. Richt was a take the high road guy. The two don’t jive.

It's done and over. Let's move on to the hope of a better future for this program.

Ditto

Lets hope that the board will NOT be bombarded in the future later by posters, giving us what they think is their interesting take and analysis of this DEAD subject, claiming that they are responsible for his leaving,......... or asking for cookies or back slaps because they predicted his failure long long ago.

BTW do you give cookies for predictions? If so, what kind?

He was disgraced out of the job. He cpuldnt face the banners next year, and the blowout loss to the Gaytas
