My thoughts on Richt

The future past is cloudy . . .

That’s obviously not true. He’s a good man and has no malacious intentions. If he did he would have forced us to fire him. He left 16 million on the table for the better of the program. What really happened was that although he was trying his best, it just wasn’t good enough for this era. He wanted a bunch of choir boys and there aren’t many of those in our roster so he started the only quarterback who was good off the field. He wanted to run an outdated offense and getting away with being more talented than anyone else even though we aren’t good enough for that bs yet. He tried recruiting and that evident with how much time he spent on the road. He spend more time on the road this December than any head coach I have ever seen. Recruits didn’t come because we sucked. Richt tried his best and when he realized that wasn’t good enough he let go.

Great post and assessment ! This is spot on - Richt is a good guy and realize this guy left 16 million in the table! He could have just played along and refused to fire coaches and got a settlement if he was fired. His methods, discpline and offense were / are outdated. No one wants to play for this kind of train wreck and honestly I can not blame them. All in all, he did the right thing and it appears to have turned out quite well for Miami!

It's done and over. Let's move on to the hope of a better future for this program.

Agreed; but I do feel this is a sore spot b/c of how easy the schedule was and how monumental a collapse it was. Honestly, Richt did ***** us this yr, especially on the recruiting side. It just wasn’t the on field play, it was literally not contacting kids. If he didn’t have the desire, he should’ve made that known and contingency plans could’ve been made.

Regardless, I’m glad he’s gone and hopefully Manny can pick up the pieces and rebuild us w/in 3-4 yrs.

It’ll never happen if coaches keep trying to “make” a guy be a leader that no one respects.** GENERAL STATEMENT**
Cant think of any good team who leader isn’t at qb. That’s got to change

RICHT simply lost the FIRE for winning....

South Florida SUNSHINE, BEACHS and LIFESTYLE probably made him want to enjoy his life..... like another coach we know:

Something about Miami just begs people to relax and take it easy. JJ won a National Title and 2 Super Bowls. Then he comes back and he's like "Yeah! Let's...retire..."

Richt just wasnt as good a coach as were led to believe. The evidence was out there tho, for those of us who cared to look.

I honestly feel midway through the season he decided to retire. Once he found out he had to fire his son at the end of the year and hire an OC he called a quits.

It was evident in his recruiting when multiple elite level kids stated he barely recruited them.

It was evident in his coaching by sticking with Rosier and not

It was evident with the lack of disciple in the locker room which was evident during the bowl preparation.

If he knew he was going to retire at years end, the move SHOULD have been made to announce his retirement and name Manny the future HC in November. The team probably would have played with more fire and the recruits would have had an idea what in story for the future before signing day.

Whatever.

He resigned and saved the University millions of dollars. I'm not complaining.

Remember when coach brown tried to say something about something in the lockerroom
Cancerous and not enough leaders or something like that? Then Mark Richt minutes tried to deny that, turns out coach brown was more than right on that
Still kissing TB's *** huh Brock smh lol

He retired after he decided to Onside kick the ball vs UVA with 3:10 & all 3 TO's left.

That was the death blow of the season... I'm still shell shocked by that.

Wasn’t nothing wrong with the lockerrom I guess. Nothing to see here
No one said there wasn't but what you keep missing despite multiple people telling for you months is HE was part of the problem.

You just like him so you keep tryna make it seem like he had nothing to do with the turmoil, when he was a source of it.
