Love Edge and happy he's in the HOF. But his two greatest skills were getting the ball a lot and playing with HOF qbs and wrs. He's the anti-Gore.

Rusty may have gone down as the Greatest Cane of all time if not for the injury, Maybe my favorite Cane of all time. I feel sorry for the young fans that never saw Rusty Medaris was an all time great!

I’ve had this convo with friends of mine who like other teams, but I think if you put our all time team against any other college I think it’s the best pound for pound. Off the top of my head I’ll say bama, Ohio state and usc would be the closest. Teams like OU, ND, and Nebraska I would even give us the edge.
If I’m bringing in all the Canes for a tryout of all time team based on everything, not just stats, there is no way I have X in my top 4 and I love the kid. He would not beat out Santana and you absolutely find a way to get AJ on the field in 4 wide. And that’s not taking into consideration that Toney is about to lock up a spot in that top 4 soon enough.
Cici also finds a way to crack starting lineup, even if at G.
2nd team DT would be nasty, possibly better than 1st team.

Anyone that puts x in the all time starting lineup of Canes has not been a fan for very long. I love x but not on the all time cane list.
Agree - but somehow @k9cane found a way to put him on there. I don’t care about “modern” offense rhetoric. If you are building an all time team no way is X on my 2 deep. No disrespect, but he’s not getting snaps over Santana, Andre or even guys like Reggie Wayne. I’m not picking Santana over X as my slot just because I didn’t get any tape of Moss working the slot.
I think the point was X was the best player who played slot, not the best receiver who could have played slot.
Although Mali will take this spot very soon.

Yes, that is my logic, and I will say this, on my all-time rankings, X would be among the top 100 Hurricanes of all-time, but Santana would probably be in my top 15-20. I tried to stay as position specific as possible in terms of the role these guys played while at UM
As for Malachi, I generally refrain from placing current players on these kinda things as I've been burned doing that before. But he's certainly headed to being on everyone's list for a lot of different things

I think Pitt may actually be right up there with anybody. They have several all-time greats at multiple positions on both sides of the ball. USC is also stacked...

I think he had the best performance at QB that I’ve ever seen at UM. My favorite previous qb at UM was Steve Walsh but I now favor Cam at the top. He had no help from the defense and still had that season.

I would swap Vernon carey for mercier.
X had a great career here but there are to many guys who are just better than him period. You mentioned Moss but **** i'd take Kevin Williams also.
WR's I would take over x-for sure : Brian Blades, Brett Perriman, Mike Irvin, Reggie Wayne, Andre Johnson, Eddie Brown, Randall Hill, Kevin Williams, Horace Copeland, Santana Moss. Kinda torn with dorsett, benjamin, hearns and hankerson but i'd prolly take those guys too also pre knee yatil green.
Take Jesse Armstead on dan morgan but I'd be cool with morgan on my team.
Right now I'd take kenard Lang over Bain. If bain has a solid/great pro career then he can snatch that spot.
I did a three deep in a post not to long ago and the deepest position was DT. In fact no team in the ncaa has a DT legacy, historically better than Miami's buy a wide margin.
Same with the saftey position with only USC having a better group.
WR is another strong group with only ahia st having more nfl 1000 seasons with 44 to Miami's 40.
Weakest is prolly o-line and cb.

Putting Copeland, Dorsett, Hurns and possibly Benjamin ahead of X is wild. I think people sometimes just look at the talent of those guys vs a small / slow X. Those dudes were awesome for us and gave us a bunch of splash plays. But X produced every single year regardless of QB...there's a reason Cam and TVD always went to him when we needed a 1st down. If we're talking about more talented guys, then yes those 4 ahead of X.....but if we're talking about all time better wideouts, X belongs ahead of them.
