The younger guys are slightly above average college football players. If they were as good as some of you are suggesting they would’ve been playing in their first year.

Judging too soon. Blount was 17, he needed more time to bake. The rest were in the 220 range coming out of HS. They needed S&C. I expect at least a couple will contribute a lot this season, along with Lowe who is a freak.

I understand 2024 d-line was hyped as well and they did not live up to it at all. But the truth is the design of that defense crippled the talent on the d-line. It’s brainless to take a player like Bain who wins with power and run him on stunts, when stunts are won on speed. Hetherman defense is designed to the strength of the players that have been recruited since Mario arrived.

Finally someone who understands this Defense is going to be really good. Especially the DL.

Nah, I was turning his stupidity around on him. I copied exactly what he said but instead of Mesidor, I put “younger guys.”
 
I expect a big season from him and I think he will handle the edge better than some believe at 260. Still not his spot, but you have to get the him and Bain on the field. That was a good interview D$.

There’s a huge gap between elite and above average. Nobody in here said he’s elite. And “slightly above average” for a starting defensive end is a bad thing for a team with championship aspirations. But if you think he was slightly above average last night then I’ll take a team full of that.

Yeah I can see why you would think that.

Mesidor finished the night with five tackles and 1.5 sacks—and came up huge down the stretch when the Hurricanes needed some pass rushing punch. According to PFF, Mesidor generated two pressures and did not miss a tackle. The 78.0 pass rushing grade from Mesidor was the best on the team.

Can someone post that picture of messidor celebrating with nd fighting arms after the game clinching sack? I can’t find it
 
I was absolutely ecstatic to see them broadcast that Kiper had him in the first round. CIS posters said he was 3rd round at best just a few weeks ago. 🙄. Kid has earned his attention.
