I have been a "fire Golden" guy for the past two seasons based on performance. This season speaks for itself thus far. It is great to be 3-0, and I'm elated every time we win. The schedule sets up very favorably for Al to start, and then gets unfavorable very quickly.

Just as the AG supporters urged his detractors to "let him have his time, let the season play out" before it began, I would urge them to heed their own advice now. We haven't beaten any great teams and the only legitimate team we did beat was as close as can be to stealing a win from us, at home no less. Cincy is another semi-legitimate team (I thought they were much better than they have been so far, that's why the downgrade to semi-legitimate) but they are a Thursday night road matchup which is never easy.

As you say, if we are 7-0 to start this season then I will need to see a therapist. I will need one because I will be in a manic happiness after watching the Canes finally rise up and beat FSU and take control of the ACC the way we should have done years ago.

I have no problem with Al. I think he is a great "face" of the program and he represents us well. My problem has always been with his coaching. ANY true Cane would much rather see Al succeed than fail, because we all want to see wins. Our problem with him has been a lack of wins and progress. If he coaches us to a 7-0 record this year, then my problem with him will have vanished. I will gladly admit I was wrong about him and enjoy the ride that watching my Canes win again will bring.

I would much rather deal with the "wrath" of people saying I was wrong about Al then I would enjoy watching another year of this program being mired in mediocrity. The series record between us and FSU for most consecutive wins is 7. We are currently at 5. I sure as **** don't want to see that record broken. The only way to reverse that is to finally get a win. If that happens, along with the 3 other wins against tough opponents, bring it on cause nothing will take me off my Canes high.

7-0, with this guy running the defense?

I agree with a lot of what you're saying. My problem with Golden is his stubbornness to not make the right changes within his staff. I also have a problem with his defensive philosophy, and he's showed he's a not a very good gameday coach. Other than that, just win baby!!!

Cincy is a 10 point dog to Memphis this Thursday. That alone tells you that hey are below average. I know Memphis is pretty good for their conference but gimme a break!

Cincy is not a measuring stick nor was Nebraska. FSU seems to be down this year. HE has to win both of those games IMO.

I agree....would much rather Golden prove us all wrong by having Miami slap the competition Big hand style rather than witness another garbage season...

That's where I am. The absolutely best thing for us would be for Al to succeed. I said from his second season that he was not a Finished product but a work in progress. He took a serious step backwards last year but the hard work he has put in during the offseason is encouraging. Now just keep winning.

Pinkel is someone I think is comparable to Golden. Extremely loyal to his staff and took him awhile to get his program up and running but has done a nice job.

I think that spread has everything to do with Kiel probably not playing on a short week after a concussion than it does with their team as a whole. He'll probably be ready to play when we come to town. Depending on his concussion progress, of course.

Nope not at all. I think Golden is a very comparable coach. He would do well somewhere other than Miami where he can ingrain his philosophy and have plenty of time to get some good results. I think Golden is a good guy but not a fit here and never will be even is he is given 2-3 more years. His system just doesnt fit South Florida.

FSU's offense has without a doubt taken a step back this year. Golson is not going to carry his team down the field to win the game. He's in there to manage the offense and not make mistakes. Noles defense looks very good this year IMO. Last time BC was shut out was 2010 against VT and FSU hasn't had a clean sheet since 2013 against Maryland. I predict it's going to be a lot like the game in 2008 against FSU. The score is low enough for Miami to catch a break and win but we're not going to catch that break.

Everyone keeps talking about this team or that being down. That may be true, but nothing I've seen so far suggests we're any better than last year.

It don't matter....they play with a lot of energy and compete in all three phases of the game. They are a good physical team and after we win by a field goal in the closing seconds the champagne will be sprayed in the locker room.

Alfraud got exactly what he wanted this year in a pathetically soft schedule.

he will pad the Ws with a putrid OOC schedule but when the ACC schedule kicks in I expect the same results. 5-3 or 4-4 in the ACC and no coastal championship

BC gives FSU fits seemingly every year for some reason. Notes might not be as good as they were the past couple years, but they're the first valid litmus test for us. They will come after Kaaya with a vengeance, can cover WR's, while our D will change direction as soon as Al gets antsy about the possibility of winning.

If we beat noles Al will be beside himself and all his boyfriends will be giddy. I hope we kick the crap out of them, but for me, two years ago in Tally was the year for Al to put the stake in the ground and declare he belonged. He had them and could not out coach Jimbo in the 2nd half. I was on a cruise in the casino trying to get some nole fans to take even money bets giving me 3 to one. They would not touch it. As the first half closed, I was down to 2 -1 -- not a soul. They remembered all those games. The fans in the stands remembered all those games. All Al needed was one half of coaching. We know now he doesn't have it. Last year was even worse.

If we win I will be jubilant but I still want Al gone. I will pray he gets a job offer, cause we know Blake will not fire him then. I will not drink that Kool Aide again.
