My Argument For Mario over Lane (Video)

I'll take the L on that. I remember he decommited from 2 or 3 other schools before Ole Miss and couldn't sworn Lane was the reason why he came. Oh well
USCW Then he knocked out Gretzky son. He decomitted then committed to Florida, they suck that year so he ended up decomitting and committing to Ole Miss.

We do need someone that can recruit like Cristobal in order to expedite the time it will take to fill in those talent gaps.
Some people want to be what UF was for these past few years, and look they about to fire Mullen after next season

Naw I believe Corral was very interception prone thebyear before Lane got there. I think they were even using Plumlee a little because of his decision making. Kiffin definitely helped his growth to the QB he is now.

Flavors of the Month ..... neither one is the right guy and I dont believe either one will be hired.. too many moving parts ... we will see.

I am going to take credit for the flip

Now, Dwins: is college football as business? Is recruiting a business? Those two go hand & hand and you can’t scheme your way to big boy wins.

The ACC CoRstal - sure!! No Kenny Pickett, no Sam Howell, no UVA QB (whatever his name is). There are no QBs.

Lane would look good in year one. I like him. He would be my 2nd or 3rd choice. But he has a lot of red flags. A lot!!! Also, his recruiting is very questionable. Like you said, similar to Mullen.

In the end, give me Mario. Great recruiter, great person, high integrity, tireless worker, highly regarded by all. Will build a foundation & infrastructure for long term success. That’s what I want. Long term success to make up for the last 18 years.

He would build both lines and have a long sustainable thing.

Solid opinions... my only thing is... I dont think we can be a sledge hammer like UGA... I dont think we will ever recruit like that, but what we can do is be better than them at QB, WR, DE, DBs and specials. We can be faster than them. So imo we should hire a coach that maximizes what advantages we can have, if thats Mario, I think he should be thinking Oklahoma/'19 LSU in terms of blueprint.

You make some good points. My biggest issue with Lane is recruiting. He’s having a monster year for Ole Miss but only has the nation’s 38th ranked recruiting class. Lane isn’t building, he’s maximizing his current team’s potential and dipping for the next job. However, I think he’s capable of being a Ryan Day/Lincoln Riley type coach. His offense is elite and proven. The question for me is, does Lane view Miami as a destination or another pitt stop?

I’m with you, if Mario can consistently land top 10 recruiting classes I want him all day every day and twice on Sunday. Recruiting is everything.

Yea but Manny recruited kids that aren't wanted elsewhere. I don't want transfers I want blue chip guys. Corral had no where to go lol

If I'm not mistaken wasn't Corrals recruiting all over the place?
Corral had very few options. He burned allot of bridges and coaches were scared of his off field crap...

Lane is a much better recruiter than Mullen without question. I’m just not sure he can recruit at the level needed (the trenches) to be a force in the playoffs unless the whole Will Muschamp as DC with Lane is true
