I’d take Muschamp. That said, my bigger concern about Muschamp, aside from whatever demeanor issues there are, is that he runs a 3-4 and I’m not certain that we have the personnel for that right now in the front 7 but maybe someone who knows this stuff can explain otherwise. Also, maybe he would adapt to the talent and consider a 3-3-5?

@Go Canes!! you’re fooling yourself if you think it’s a bad move for Manny to bring Muschamp in as DC if he can pull it off. He was the DC on a national championship team with ridiculous experience and knowledge.

If it happens, I would be interested to see if you jump on board and praise Manny or you vomit on him like the Mopes you loathe.

Why do we think Muschamp is available as a DC vs an analyst similar to others that have gotten fired?

Do we know this or is Muschamp simply on the list of 3-4 names most of CIS only knows and parrots?

When was he a dc on an NC team? Like 15 years ago?

He’s been a complete failure for the better part of a decade. That crazy eyed in your face bs doesn’t translate with today’s kids. And please don’t respond Saban is like that.

Failed HC, highly successful DC who brought TRob up. And still has great HC experience. I feel like gaytor Dan Mullet’s highest and best use is as an OC for a top CFB team. I feel that Muschamp is the same way as a DC. He can recruit and he upgrades our staff.

Are you kidding? He was a highly successful DC at LSU under Saban and got a Natty, then at Auburn, then at the gaytors under Urban - got a Natty. He spent a brief time at Texas and Auburn again and then became the HC for South Carolina after that. As a DC he was upper upper tier.

I don’t like or dislike Muschamp, but you figure a few things, IMO:
- he brings HC and DC experience to the room
- allows Manny to HC and not have a hybrid role
- sends more positive vibes than negative
- and if he does end up at Miami, Muschamp almost 100% would have had to call TRob at some point and asked him if we *******...

I could be crazy, but then again I don’t wake up in cold sweats in the fetal position worrying about Patke like most here.

Y’all are putting WAY too much stock into his time at USCe. It’s a dead end job that gets the kids who aren’t elite that wanna play in the SEC. It’s an impossible place to win at. Not to mention T Rob was the DC and y’all aren’t worried about that?

The only concern you should have is about us not being a personnel fit for his 3-4 scheme. Anything else is laughable. He built an absolute monster at UF on the defensive side, just isn’t HC material and couldn’t get a QB.

He’s failed at every stop this decade.

He failed as a HC at South Carolina. We’re talking about as a DC. You’re not going to win this argument by taking his DC bona fides on. The issue with him is not competence as a DC. The issue aside possibly from demeanor is that he traditionally runs a 3-4 and if he would insist on that, it will be problematic given our personnel.
