Blades, Reed and Taylor (alphabetically and chronologically) all belong at the top.
But who would be the fourth?
Knowles.

Marion was better than the others...Kenny Calhoun, Fred Marion, or Kenny Philips.
CJ was a Bad MFer....Bigtime talent....top 3 easy... after that i like some of the suggestions in Marion, Williams and Jacquan,. ,, a couple others that were great that have not been mentioned- Tremain Mack, CJ Richardson
Burgess Owens was 1st team all American, 1st round draft pick and in ring if honor all pro and super bowl champ So not saying it’s not Williams just saying it is very close
Fair enough. Good point.
Burgess owens is on that list no matter who else is. DW also. Marion also. 4th is up for debate. My next 4 would be Darryl Williams, Fred Marion, Brandon Merriweather and Kenny Phillips. I count Rolle as a CB.
Growing up in lake lucerne I was programmed to stay the *** out of the Bahas....Fellow American Alum & Bahas native Darryl Williams...
No need to nitpick the words. It was relative to the other players above him. I was giving him a compliment, as he's someone I followed closely. He was also a 7th rounder and didn't stick around the League too long. He was solid and I liked his style of play. Let's keep it reasonable.CJ was an AA.
He was more than decent.

Gotta go with Darryl Williams
- 1991 Consensus All American
- National Champ
- 1st round pick
- 1997 All-Pro and Pro Bowl
- One of the best players on one of the all time greatest defenses in CFB history
4th is Darryl Williams hands down.
But my dispute is with everyone routinely placing Kenny Phillips over Meriweather.
Meriweather had a much better pro career than Phillips & his Junior season was the best we had from any Safety since Sean Taylor. Meriweather is way too underrated by this fanbase.
Strong argument and most likely says it all. As an old, old timer, I have to give voice for Fred Marion. He was a bad boy before we knew that was what we were. Had he played later, after Miami became the NFL pipeline, he surely would have gone in 1st round instead of 5th(I think). But he really pulls at my heart because he was from Gainesville and as such one the few we stole from them.Correct. Honestly, like someone said above, it should be 3. Take the 4th spot and make it a combo of Bennie, Sean, and Ed. Those 3 are just head and shoulders above everyone else.
BUT...there's 4 old white dudes on Mt Rushmore, so we gotta put 4 on this one.
And the correct answer is Darryl Williams.
First-team All-America, finalist for the Thorpe Award, leading tackler on the best defense in the country, 18 ******* tackles in a game against FSU, a two time National Champion, first-round NFL draft pick, led the AFC in interceptions one year, and a University of Miami Sports Hall of Famer.
End of discussion.
